These slashes were merely another application of Tempest Kick, except they were delivered with hands or weapons instead.

In the world of One Piece, he would at least have earned the title of master swordsman.

The slashes cut down all the trees around the lake as easily as mowing grass.

As for the large desert creatures, they were all sliced in half.

When Tina saw this, she realized she had never encountered such a powerful Emission-type Nen user. He was far too strong.

After becoming a Hunter, she had traveled abroad and fought some Nen Ability users.

But this was the first time she had seen such an exaggerated display.

He was on an entirely different level from the Nen Ability users she knew.

Naturally, Tina was relieved. With Lucky's strength, there was no need to worry about the ritual being disrupted.

The examinees were all dumbfounded. Those still fighting to resist simply gave up and headed for the island in the lake.

They were afraid of getting caught in the crossfire and being cut in two with a single strike.

Among the examinees, only Wesley looked at Lucky with admiration. Noticing the expressions of the others, he smiled knowingly.

even a match challenging a 200th Floor Master could drive ticket prices above a million Jenie.

The match he had watched was a Floor Master Challenge for the 217th Floor.

It showed him what it meant for immortals to fight.

The arena used for Floor Master Challenges was specially made, and staff even had to be assigned to maintain it. Otherwise, the building would simply be punched through.

Wesley did not know it, but otherwise he would have learned that it was a special "Barrier" formed by Divine Script.

Wesley had never seen Lucky fight. He had only seen news photos related to him.

Yet Lucky was now merely swinging a tree branch in his hand, and still unleashing such powerful slashes. (A direct reference to Hawkeye at the Marineford War, though the power was nowhere near Hawkeye's.)

Of course, Lucky's method could only kill the larger desert creatures.

It would not work on smaller creatures like venomous scorpions and bird-eating spiders.

Of course, they could not get close either, because the lake water blocked them.

Without any intelligence to speak of, they charged straight into the lake and continued toward the center of the island.

After seeing Lucky act, Tina no longer moved around everywhere.

Instead, she focused on guarding one direction.

By now, the Oasis had been severely damaged. The trees had all been knocked down, yet the desert creatures still advanced fearlessly.

All kinds of corpses had piled up along the lakeshore.

This battle had lasted for nearly an hour.

Tina was already struggling to hold on. In this place, her Nen reserves were immense, and she normally recovered quickly.

But Lord God had weakened, causing Tina's recovery speed to become ordinary as well.

She had overestimated herself. She simply could not hold them back.

She had no choice but to retreat to the center of the island.

She was in a sorry state, with quite a bit of blood staining her body.

Looking at Lucky, who was still fighting, she sighed inwardly. Without Lucky, she would probably have had no choice but to flee.

She even felt somewhat fortunate.

She did not believe Lord God's change had been caused entirely by Lucky's Nen Beast. Given Lord God's current condition, it would likely happen again in the future.

If she was not here, or if she had to face it alone,

she would not be able to defend this place at all and could only choose to flee.

Only after stopping and no longer fighting did Tina have time to observe Lucky's methods.

Every one of Lucky's attacks was terrifyingly powerful.

They were not purely Emission-type Nen bullets. She also did not believe anyone could continuously fire Nen bullets for nearly an hour.

That was indeed the case.

Tempest Kick had become an "application technique" of Nen.

It involved the use of Ren, Ten, Zetsu, and Gyo, as well as the training of Emission Nen. Most importantly, it required the ability to unleash Vacuum Slashes.

The tree branch in Lucky's hand was wrapped in Zetsu. Otherwise, it could not withstand such repeated swings. Even when it did not strike anything solid, the force against the wind with every swing was immense.

Seeing that Lucky still had strength to spare, Tina quickly understood the extent of his Nen reserves.

Another hour passed.

Tina had gone numb.

The examinees had as well, though their eyes were filled with awe.

Lucky did not feel tired at all.

He had never tested the extent of his Nen reserves, but while maintaining Ken, he could last for over eighteen hours. He did not know how long he could last in actual combat, because no one had yet forced him to expend his Nen.

Even his sparring matches with his master, Chairman Netero, had only gone so far.

However, Lucky knew he was still not strong enough. At the very least, when facing the Hundred-Type Guanyin, he could only dodge around a dozen slaps.

By now, the lake was filled with countless corpses.

The entire lake had been dyed a vivid red.

If this battle continued, the whole lake would probably be filled to the brim.

Was the attraction really that great?

Lucky released his aura without restraint, yet these desert creatures completely defied their biological instincts and continued charging forward without fear of death.

Now it had become a battle of endurance.

Either that, or they would have to wait and see when Phoenix succeeded.

Another half hour passed.

Lucky's movements suddenly paused for a brief moment.

Tina sensed something and looked toward the Oak Tree.

Even the examinees felt an invisible ripple and turned toward the Oak Tree.

So this place really was not simple. That was what some of the examinees thought.

Suddenly, enormous flames erupted from the entire Oak Tree, with the bird's nest at the core.

The nest was instantly burned to nothing.

The Oak Tree, however, was different. It was unaffected by the flames.

Clumps of black ash fell from the tree, landed on the ground, and swiftly merged into the earth.

Phoenix let out a cry, clear and soaring.

The flames began to contract, and a palm-sized firebird appeared on the tree.

Then the flames slowly expanded. Phoenix appeared once more, and this time, the fire covering its body even carried a luxurious hint of gold.

It spread its wings and flew up, radiating a brilliant glow.

As Phoenix took flight, green light also emerged from the Oak Tree. It belonged to aura.

Even the examinees present could see the green light. The Oak Tree's aura had become tangible enough to be clearly visible.

Tina felt her exhaustion vanish as her Nen began recovering more quickly.

Phoenix flew off the island. Sparks filled the sky, falling into the lake and into the Oasis.

Enormous flames began to spread.

The flames were incredibly powerful, burning the corpses and everything else into ash.

The many corpses within the Oasis were burned as well.

These flames targeted only corpses and the desert creatures within the Oasis.

Outside the Oasis, the desert creatures still rushing over from afar began to return to normal as well.
