History

Early guild period

Fairy Tail operates in a magic-rich Fiore, where guild membership enables Mages to accept and complete commissioned quests. Ul joins through the orphanage branch after demonstrating rapid spellcasting and is accepted by veteran A-rank Mage Wakaba Mine. 2 7

The main Magnolia guild welcomes Ul despite its chaotic atmosphere. At this time, Makarov serves as Guild Master, while established members including Natsu, Gray, Erza, Mirajane, and Laxus shape the guild's growing strength and volatile daily life. 8 13 42

As members complete increasingly difficult work, Fairy Tail's reputation expands across Fiore. Erza and Mira becoming S-Class Mages, the Thunder God Tribe's campaigns against dark guilds, and Ul's rise as the “Dragon Slayer” draw large numbers of aspiring Mages to Magnolia. 208

War with Phantom Lord

Phantom Lord's attempt to seize Lucy Heartfilia escalates into open war after Jose brings his guild and the Super Mage Giant to Magnolia. Fairy Tail mobilizes immediately despite being caught off guard. 340 341
