Landing

The viscous liquid splattered against the cabin door, immediately spraying everywhere, with white smoke hissing up from the points of impact, reeking horribly.

Some unlucky passengers whose skin was splashed found it instantly turning black, smoking, cracking as if scorched by fierce flames, suffering agonizing pain. Pouring mineral water over it did nothing to help.

After the door took that spray, large white bubbles erupted from the metal surface, emitting a foul odor. The Mutant pressed forward and threw another punch, and the dent in the door grew larger and larger, the deepest part even splitting open to reveal the various components hidden inside.

In short order, the sturdy cabin door couldn't withstand this relentless battering and broke open with a fist-sized hole. Through the hole, the cockpit's interior was visible. The Bearded Captain looked panicked, shouting hoarsely at the ground tower while frantically executing high-difficulty flight maneuvers, trying to throw the Mutant off balance.

But at that moment, the Mutant spotted Fang Linyan through the broken hole. Its eyes locked onto him with a gaze of utter hatred, and as if its intelligence had increased, it began grabbing nearby handholds to steady itself, slowly approaching the cabin door.

Just then, the Bearded Captain said urgently, "We're here, we're here! The airport is right ahead!"

As he spoke, the plane began a dive and glide to decelerate, preparing for landing.

But the Mutant seized the rare moment of stability before landing, burst forward, and slammed violently into the battered cabin door. The door let out a teeth-grinding sound, and the Mutant's right arm lost a large chunk of flesh to the jagged edges, exposing white bone beneath.

Yet it paid no heed, continuing to ram the door with its brutal, bloody right arm. The sharp internal parts of the door pierced into its muscles and even drove deep into the bone, but the door itself began to warp severely, on the verge of being forced open.

Fang Linyan stepped forward, gripping the Voodoo Doll tightly. A Blood Spider leaped out nimbly, pouncing on the Mutant. The monster let out a wretched howl, fell to its knees, and clutched its head in agony, screaming wildly.

The Bearded Captain glanced back in his panic, felt a surge of relief, and gripped the control yoke tightly as he dove. After a violent jolt, the passenger plane landed successfully, white smoke trailing from the tires on the landing gear, finally returning safely to Boston's airport.

As the plane slowly came to a stop, it was surrounded by multiple police cars, and a heavily armed SWAT team was on the scene. Why such a response?

Because twenty minutes earlier, a hijacked plane had launched a suicide attack, crashing into the Department of Defense building!

And ten minutes before that, news came that another hijacked passenger plane had gone berserk and slammed into a world-famous skyscraper, shaking the entire nation with devastating losses.

So, barring any surprises, this returning plane should have been hijacked for a terrorist attack too. But something very strange had happened on board, and it had flown back largely intact. At this moment, the eyes of the entire United States, even the whole world, were fixed on this plane.

After the plane landed and stopped, all exits were quickly opened. Passengers poured out like dumplings into boiling water, scrambling down frantically. The airport had prepared accordingly, with personnel calming and screening them one by one.

At this point, cold sweat broke out on Fang Linyan's back. The Blood Spider's cooldown wasn't up yet, and the Mutant was already recovering, attacking the crumbling cabin door with fury, threatening to break through at any second.

Fortunately, the Bearded Captain had no idea the Mutant's hatred was fixed on Fang Linyan. He opened the side hatch at record speed, didn't bother with the ladder, gritted his teeth, and jumped. Despite landing with a painful scream, he endured the pain and scrambled away, rolling and crawling.

Naturally, Fang Linyan followed right behind him, jumping down and stumbling as he ran. Less than two or three seconds after he landed, the Test Subject burst out in hot pursuit, ferocious and relentless.

Someone started shouting for Fang Linyan to raise his hands and get on the ground with his head down. Fang Linyan raised his hands, yelling, "I'm not a terrorist! I'm harmless! That thing behind me is the real threat!" as he kept fleeing.

Seeing the Test Subject's bloody, savage appearance, the cops and SWAT members went on high alert, raising their guns and shouting warnings for it to stop. Naturally, the Test Subject ignored them entirely and suddenly lunged at a cop blocking its path.

At this point, the Test Subject looked battered and wounded from breaking through the door, but in reality, the Gerard Parasite inside had gained a more mature grip on its host body, boosting its overall strength instead.

Its legs bent sharply, muscle fibers tearing from the sheer force, and then it shot forward like a giant frog, moving at an astonishing speed. The targeted cop didn't even have time to react before being sent flying in less than a second.

Not only that, but mid-air, the Test Subject drove an elbow into his head. The cop's mouth and nose gushed blood, his skull caving in at least ten centimeters, likely shattered into fragments mixed with brain matter. He didn't even have time to make a sound before convulsing and dying.

The Mutant bit into the corpse's throat, greedily sucking, its vicious, bloodshot eyes scanning the surroundings. Seeing this, the trained cops and special forces felt a chill run down their spines, realizing this monster couldn't be judged by human standards. At the captain's command, they opened fire without hesitation.

Immediately, a crackling barrage of gunfire rang out like popping beans!

Seeing this, Fang Linyan finally let out a long breath. The Mutant was strong, but not insane enough to withstand sustained fire from over a dozen semi-automatic rifles. The lethality of 7.62mm steel-core bullets was far beyond ordinary pistol rounds.
