Background

Thor is Odin's son and Asgard's former crown prince. After Odin punished him, stripped away his divine power, and banished him to Midgard, Thor was separated from Mjolnir and arrived on Earth unable to prove his identity or reclaim his weapon. He nevertheless retained the resilience of an Asgardian body, surviving electrical shocks that left him unconscious. 151 152

Tony Stark forcibly subdued Mjolnir and became its new wielder, leaving Thor devastated and unable to lift his own hammer. Thor remained on Earth, accepted work as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and sought a way to regain his power. 153 154

Peter Parker brought Thor to the Ultimate Limit Hall, where Thor became Zhan Liu's disciple. His familiarity with Chinese, classical texts, meridians, and acupoints—combined with a will hardened by a thousand years of combat—allowed him to enter the Current Drive Realm exceptionally quickly. The breakthrough restored his thunder powers. 156

Appearance

In his later appearances, Thor is a burly Norseman with long golden hair, a long beard, a prominent belly, and a black eyepatch over one eye. He is frequently surrounded by crackling lightning and carries Stormbreaker. 473

  • Broad, heavily built physique.
  • Golden hair and long beard.
  • Black eyepatch.
  • Often manifests a visible lightning aura.
  • Wields Asgardian warrior attire when recognized by divine weapons. 474

Personality

Thor is direct, boastful, and eager for battle. Even while powerless on Earth, he loudly proclaimed his status and insisted that Midgard's problems would be easy for him to solve once his strength returned. 152

His courage can become recklessness. He treats powerful enemies as exhilarating challenges, repeatedly re-entering battle after being injured and considering death in combat an Asgardian warrior's destiny. 262 406

Thor's desire to become a God-King and King of the Nine Realms pushed him toward conquest and conflict with Earth. Later losses—particularly Asgard's destruction and the disappearance of his family—left him grieving, directionless, and willing to abandon his former ambitions for a secluded life on Midgard. 320 470

Abilities & Skills

Divine Power and Lightning Manipulation

Thor's divine office as the God of Thunder grants him command over lightning and greatly amplifies his physical power.

  • Regained his dormant Thor power after entering the Current Drive Realm. 156
  • Can summon lightning from the void and channel it through his weapons. 350
  • His awakening as the God of Thunder increased his strength roughly tenfold compared with his former God of the Hammer state. 317
  • Can endure attacks powerful enough to threaten starship-scale combatants. 350
  • Was initially highly vulnerable to externally supplied electricity while his divine power was sealed. 152

Magnetic Field Rotation

Thor cultivates Ultimate Limit Qigong's Magnetic Field Rotation system alongside his divine power.

  • Used the system to conquer the Nine Realms and force their submission to Asgardian military strength. 231
  • Reached roughly the Twenty-Five Heavens through prolonged campaigning. 262
  • Can use Magnetic Field Rotation for cellular regeneration, though specialized Bug King artifacts can interfere with this recovery. 432
  • His realm was insufficient to threaten Natasha after her immense power increase. 411

Asgardian Physiology and Combat

Thor is an experienced frontline warrior with more than a millennium of combat experience.

  • His Asgardian resilience let him survive electrical shocks and severe battlefield injuries. 152 262
  • Excels in space combat, where his flight, divine body, and lightning allow him to operate without the limitations faced by many allies. 350
  • Fights with a berserker mentality, gaining momentum rather than fear after taking damage. 262
  • Possesses extensive practical knowledge of cosmic civilizations, parallel universes, time, and space through his Asgardian upbringing. 343

Equipment

  • Mjolnir — Thor's former hammer. Odin's enchantment prevented Thor from lifting it after his exile; Tony Stark initially suppressed its judgment mechanism through superior power. Thor later recovered and wielded it again, though Zhan Liu was also recognized by the hammer. 153 156 473 474
  • Stormbreaker — Asgard's last and most powerful divine weapon. It is sentient, jealous of Mjolnir, capable of summoning lightning and the Bifrost, and serves as a key to Eternity's Realm. 355 404 501
  • Asgardian warships — Thor has commanded Asgardian forces and warships during campaigns across the Nine Realms. 319

Relationships

  • Odin — Father and All-Father. Odin exiled Thor, stripped his divine power, and separated him from Mjolnir; Thor later learned that Odin had died during Asgard's destruction. 154 470
  • Frigga — Mother. Thor's concern for his family remained a vulnerability that enemies such as Ebony Maw attempted to exploit. 354
  • Loki — Brother and rival. Thor repeatedly tried to protect, imprison, and reason with Loki despite his betrayals; he remained deeply attached to him even after Asgard's fall. 323 324 364 417
  • Zhan Liu — Master at the Ultimate Limit Hall. Zhan Liu taught Thor Ultimate Limit Qigong and guided him toward a harsher path of kingship based on strength and resolve. 156 157
  • Tony Stark — Fellow disciple and rival for Mjolnir. Tony's seizure of the hammer motivated Thor to pursue greater strength, though Tony later regarded the weapon primarily as a technological object. 153 157 254
  • Peter Parker — Earth-based ally turned political opponent. Peter invited Thor to train under Zhan Liu, but later resisted Thor's demand for Earth's submission and fought him in space. 154 319 320
  • Sif — Asgardian warrior and ally. Thor's relationship with Sif was affected by Loki's actions, for which Loki claimed to seek forgiveness. 323
  • Tyr — Thor's illegitimate son. Thor intervened when Zhan Liu captured and injured Tyr, revealing their father-son connection. 473
