The Demon Race has fought the Human Race for roughly a thousand years. The Human Race describes the conflict as a prolonged defensive war, with the Demon Race holding greater overall strength and having previously swallowed the Western Borderlands before pressing toward the Northern Territory. Lingxiao Heaven Pass repeatedly stalled that advance. 94 165

Its population is divided among many clans, each capable of producing its own outstanding younger generation. A captured demon genius knew little beyond his own clan, limiting the Human Race's ability to identify and prepare for other Demon Race prodigies. 93

A large group of Demon Race newcomers is dispatched to temper itself in the Southern Territory. Their arrival immediately results in coordinated assassinations of Human Race patrols, killing five disciples and injuring fifteen. The attackers are only at the Dao Platform Realm, but their strength allows them to kill before life-saving measures can activate. 93
