Hogwarts' Worst Class Schedule
Professor Kettleburn changed everyone's previous impression of the Care of Magical Creatures in just half a class period.
Especially after getting up close to the Bowtruckle, they discovered that these little guys were really interesting.
This is a very simple and Fantastic Beasts, and it doesn't hide its emotions. After getting a turtle, it will happily stretch out its slender arms and swing on the person's clothes.
Or perhaps you could sneak into the pocket of a little wizard's robe and enjoy a delicious snack where no one can see you.
The students quickly formed a long line... everyone wanted to play with the Bowtruckle a little longer.
To ensure that everyone could have access to the Bowtruckle, Professor Kettleburn had to stipulate that each person could only have two minutes of interaction time.
He also obtained a batch of new Bowtruckle from the Forbidden Forest... about twenty or so.
After all, those who had eaten earlier were almost full, but there were still dozens of people in line waiting to be fed.
If we don't increase the number, they won't be able to enjoy this interactive fun.
While everyone was queuing, Professor Kettleburn would stand to the side and loudly proclaim:
"Because Bowtruckle never choose to nest in trees that don't possess magical properties."
"This means that the trees they protect can usually be used to make wands."
"Therefore, these little guys are very popular with wandmakers... They no longer need to bother identifying the trees; they only need to look for the Bowtruckle."
Professor Kettleburn's lectures were very detailed and interesting.
He always manages to answer all the questions his students ask.
"Professor, what would happen to the Bowtruckle if it were placed in an ordinary forest?" asked a Gryffindor student at the back of the line.
"We'll still live in the trees, just not as comfortable," Professor Kettleburn said. "It's like leaving your warm, comfortable bed to sleep at the Astronomy Tower; I doubt anyone would find it more comfortable."
"Professor, if there were five Bowtruckle and six Mountain Pear Trees, which one would they abandon?"
"Except for the oldest tree, the other five will be abandoned."
Professor Kettleburn stated, "They typically stay together until there are enough members in the tree before choosing other trees."
"What if all those pear trees were the same?"
"Then let's choose the nearest one..."
Gradually, more and more people started asking questions, and the questions became increasingly tricky. Some people even went so far as to ask questions like, "If a Dragon were hungry, how many Bowtruckle could it eat in one bite?"
But Professor Kettleburn remained unperturbed.
"Judging from the size of the Dragon's mouth and the number of Bowtruckle on a tree, there are probably around twelve."
However, Bowtruckle are not usually on the Dragon's menu because they have very little meat and are agile and difficult to catch.
You can't expect them to just stand there in the trees and wait for the Dragon to come.
The students applauded, with the young wizard who had asked the question clapping the most enthusiastically until his hands turned red.
And just like that, the class was over in no time.
Kettleburn approached Kyle and asked, "Aren't you bored?"
Kyle shook his head. "No, it's very interesting."
"To be honest, it's okay."
"Okay... kind of." Kyle scratched his head sheepishly.
Professor Kettleburn chuckled, "I went to the Hebrides last night, and Newt went too. We happened to talk about you."
He told me a lot about you, and even told me that you helped deliver a Nundu.
Kyle chuckled dryly twice.
Newt is supposed to be socially awkward, so why does he blurt out everything?
To avoid being labeled with some strange title, he quickly shook his head and said, "It's all thanks to Mr. Scamander; I only helped out a little."
But Kettleburn seemed not to hear, muttering to himself, "It seems the third-year Care of Magical Creatures was indeed a bit too easy for you."
"Perfect timing! I received a letter from Professor McGonagall before class. You've chosen a lot of courses, haven't you?"
Kyle nodded.
"Go to another class," Professor Kettleburn patted him on the shoulder. Then he shook his head and muttered under his breath.
"It's a pity that the Hippogriff would have given birth a few days later... With your help, things would have been much easier for me."
As he spoke, he rubbed his chest... There were three neat white scratches on his coat, made of some unknown material, which must have been made by Hippogriff.
Kyle's lips twitched, and he quickly changed the subject, saying, "Professor, where's your prosthetic leg?"
"Oh, lost in the Hebrides. Those big guys are a disaster when they get angry."
After bidding farewell to Professor Kettleburn, the two headed towards the castle.
On the way back, Kanna asked curiously, "You can even help Fantastic Beasts give birth...?"
"Let's not talk about this and we can still be good friends!"
Kyle said irritably, "Besides, it was Newt who helped; I was just an assistant at best!"
Seeing Kyle's sullen expression, Kanna's eyes curved into crescents, and she covered her mouth with a soft laugh.
The second section is the History of Magic.
Professor Binns's lectures were nothing special; as soon as he started reciting those tedious dates and names, many of the young wizards began to doze off.
It's been like this for two years, and it's still like this now, and there are more and more people like this.
Less than five minutes into the class, a large number of students had collapsed onto the floor.
Moreover, the students seem to have evolved a magical ability... no matter how noisy they are when sleeping in the dormitory, they become very quiet here and sleep with excellent quality.
It's like the table in the History of Magic has some kind of magic.
After class, everyone quickly snapped out of their daze, leaving the classroom refreshed and ready to head to the Great Hall for lunch.
Kyle also encountered the Weasley brothers at the entrance of the Great Hall.
They seemed to be discussing something, but ran away quickly when they saw Kyle approaching.
"Do you know what they're talking about?" Kyle asked.
Kanna shook her head, the marks on her face still visible from the books she had slept on.
"How strange..." Kyle watched their retreating figures and walked into the Great Hall, puzzled.
The afternoon consisted of two consecutive Potions Class by Snape.
The first day of the new school year: History of Magic in the morning, Potions Class in the afternoon... You could hardly find a worse schedule at Hogwarts.
When they left the common room, everyone except Kanna looked rather unwell, especially the students who hadn't finished their homework; they could barely walk.
