Background

Yoriichi arrived in the pirate world carrying the black blade he named Dawnbreaker. Witnessing human cruelty comparable to the demons he once fought, he resolved to bring “a glimmer of dawn” to the world through the sword. 3

He entered Marine training under Zephyr, initially testing himself against the former Admiral with a bamboo sword. Though Zephyr effortlessly disarmed him, the encounter established both Yoriichi's vast potential and his willingness to confront opponents far stronger than himself. 7 8
