Background / History

In his past life, Tang San was an orphan raised by the Tang Sect. As an outer sect disciple, he secretly studied inner-sect manuals and entered the forbidden grounds to obtain the blueprints for the Buddha Wrath Tang Lotus. His stolen knowledge allowed him to restore lost hidden weapons and gain recognition as a prodigy, but the sect exposed his theft and demanded that he surrender the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record and cripple his martial arts. 4

After perishing at Ghost Sorrow Cliff, Tang San's soul transmigrated to the Douluo Continent and rebirthed through possession. There, he used his knowledge, the blacksmith Lou Gao's assistance, and his Clear Sky Hammer to recreate the Buddha Wrath Tang Lotus with local materials. 5

The Heavenly Dao Gold Ranking publicly exposes both his past-life theft and his possession-based rebirth. Though shaken by the collapse of his heroic image, Tang San is reassured by the Shrek Seven Devils and Yu Xiaogang, who urge him to secure victory over Martial Soul Hall and let the victors define history. 5

Personality

Tang San is intensely ambitious and convinced that he is favored by destiny. He repeatedly frames himself as the world's rightful protagonist and believes his divine inheritances entitle him to supreme authority. 13 41

He is highly sensitive to humiliation. Revelations about his past, lower-than-expected artifact rankings, and defeats by Qian Renxue or Gu Yuena provoke anger, denial, and renewed vows of vengeance. 4 23 41 52

Tang San presents his ambitions as sacrifices for the greater good. However, his attempts to seize Xiao Wu's reward, Dugu Bo's Sacred Land, Gu Yuena's Great Dao Sword Ring, and Chen Xin's rewards reveal a willingness to prioritize his own growth over allies and personal obligations. 16 21 48 58 62
