Background / History

Lin Yuan, a modern office worker, transmigrated into Eastern Emperor Taiyi’s body shortly before the Witch-Demon Calamity. His consciousness fused with Taiyi’s memories and instincts, creating a new identity that carries both Lin Yuan’s caution and the Eastern Emperor’s pride. 1

The original Taiyi was an Innate Deity born from the Sun Star, Di Jun’s younger brother, the holder of the Chaos Bell, and a leading figure in the Demon Race’s Heavenly Court. Through inherited memories, the new Taiyi learns that the Demon Race is heading toward a predetermined destruction in the coming Calamity. 1 2

The Forbidden Sign-In System activates after his awakening. It rewards him for disrupting predetermined events, but excessive deviation risks drawing the Heavenly Dao’s attention. Taiyi therefore adopts the original Eastern Emperor’s arrogant, aggressive persona as both camouflage and a means of openly challenging fate. 1 3

As Taiyi’s identity compatibility rises, he regains increasingly vivid fragments of the original Eastern Emperor’s memories, including his childhood connection with Di Jiang. At seventy-one percent compatibility, the System unlocks the ability to actively view partial memory fragments. 17

After integrating the Karma Reversal fragments into his Dao Foundation, Taiyi becomes a genuine anomaly outside the Heavenly Dao’s readable script. His heavenly secrets and destiny grow so chaotic that even Saint-level calculation would struggle to determine them without the Heavenly Dao’s direct intervention. 52 53

Appearance

Taiyi is a nine-foot-tall man with an imposing, solar majesty. His cultivated bearing is deliberately cold and untouchable, reflecting the image expected of the Eastern Emperor. 1

  • Dark golden imperial robes embroidered with a three-legged Golden Crow totem; he also wears a simple golden crown. 1
  • Sword-like brows, a high nose bridge, thin sharp lips, and eyes compared to cold stars. 1
  • Two perpetually burning Golden Sun Flames reside in his pupils. 1
  • Wears profound-iron light armor marked with sun patterns when leading campaigns. 14
  • After the Pangu Hall incident, his left arm becomes mutated amid his unstable mixed energies. 28 29
  • Carries Nuwa’s Azure Scale Talisman against his chest, where it releases cool Creation energy to protect his mind and origin. 60 61

Personality

Taiyi presents himself as domineering, impatient, and certain of the Demon Race’s right to rule. He consciously cultivates this image because it matches Eastern Emperor Taiyi’s established character and makes his otherwise unusual actions seem credible. 1

Beneath the performance, he is calculating and survival-driven. Unlike the original Taiyi’s direct style, he uses deception, traps, negotiations, and long-term planning; Di Jiang specifically recognizes that he has gained “scheming” and fear. 17 20 37

He is fiercely independent in matters of cultivation and allegiance. Even while injured and dependent on Styx’s refuge, Taiyi refuses to abandon his own Dao or submit to another’s path. 30 31

Taiyi also shows a protective side toward the Demon Race’s younger generation, particularly Lu Ya, whose future tragedy he intends to prevent. 14

As his responsibilities broaden, Taiyi demonstrates political acumen and restraint in addition to martial force. He mediates disputes among Demon Race and frontier factions, using pressure, negotiation, and formations to preserve Heavenly Court authority without needless escalation. 68 70

Taiyi is willing to shoulder personal risk to protect those whose fate he seeks to change. This extends from the ten Golden Crows and the Demon Race to the nascent Human Race, whom he covertly aids despite the karmic and political complications involved. 83 89 95

Abilities & Skills

Forbidden Sign-In System

Taiyi’s system issues location-based missions tied to deviations from predetermined fate and awards taboo points, relics, techniques, and information. 1 4

  • Its rewards enabled his early growth through sign-ins at Lingxiao Palace, the Sun Star, Pangu Hall, and Zixiao Palace. 4 6 23 42
  • It warns that drastic changes to fate may attract the Heavenly Dao’s scrutiny. 1 4
  • Its taboo power weakens Taiyi’s connection to the great karma net, leaving his own destiny difficult to read. 42 43
  • At the creation of reincarnation, it awarded Taiyi a Fragmented Thread of Fate, an Earthly Dao Protection Mark, thirty-six Reincarnation Dao Pattern Imprints, five thousand Taboo Points, and encrypted Heavenly Dao Loophole Coordinates. 105
  • Taiyi eventually recognizes that the System and its taboo authority are double-edged forces connected to a greater struggle against the Heavenly Dao’s established order. 83 107

Chaos True Sun Fire

A mutated version of Taiyi’s True Sun Fire created by fusing Chaos Demon God blood into it. It combines solar fire with violent, chaotic properties. 4

  • Initially unstable and difficult to control, behaving like a force that resisted his established cultivation methods. 5
  • Can form defensive fire shields and giant flaming hands in combat. 11 16
  • Possesses annihilative properties capable of countering Di Jiang’s Spatial Severance Divine Ability. 17
  • Its unstable mixture with Blood Fiend and earth-vein energies later becomes a major internal danger. 27 28
  • Taiyi later uses True Sun Fire origin as an anchor within reincarnation, allowing him to sense movements in the Blood Sea and the laws surrounding the Six Paths. 107

Shaping

A Chaos Bell-derived application of Chaos True Sun Fire that allows Taiyi to reshape and repair matter. 7

  • Used to repair physical damage, including a damaged desk in the Sun Palace. 6 8
  • Requires precise control over his chaotic flame rather than brute force. 7
  • Can melt and reshape matter up to the Houtian Spirit Treasure level while imparting partial True Fire characteristics. 7

Chaos Bell

Taiyi’s supreme treasure and primary weapon. Its artifact spirit gradually awakens and comes to recognize Taiyi personally as its master. 1 7

  • Generates suppressive bell chimes that disperse concealment techniques and interfere with opponents. 11
  • Absorbed Sun Star laws, gaining three Great Sun restrictions. 6
  • Provides a nascent Time-Space Stasis ability that can slow movement within roughly ten feet. 9 11
  • Can absorb fiendish or malevolent energies, though its spirit seeks an immense number of different malevolent energies to become “complete.” 10 22
  • Its second level of control can annihilate a star fragment, but doing so consumed forty percent of Taiyi’s magic power. 9
  • Its three-day toll following Taiyi’s breakthrough helps consolidate his half-step Quasi-Saint cultivation and announces the emergence of his new Dao to the Great Wilderness. 52 53
  • Can assist Taiyi in concealing time and space, supporting his ability to hide his realm and evade Heavenly Dao observation. 107

Heaven-Opening Axe Imprint

Insight obtained from Pangu Hall after Taiyi’s forbidden sign-in provoked Pangu’s residual will. 23

  • Gives him a “macro perspective” for observing the conflict and balance of forces inside his body. 27
  • Contains a Creation Will that he uses to divide and stabilize incompatible energies in his Dantian. 28
  • Allowed him to evade attacks and survive while critically injured during his escape from Pangu Hall. 24
  • Its principles continue to inform Taiyi’s use of Creation Pure Qi and Merit to recover from severe physical and Primordial Spirit injuries. 101

Causality Vision and Heavenly-Secret Disruption

After integrating the Karma Reversal relic fragments, Taiyi can perceive karma threads, destiny trajectories, hidden risks, and opportunities. 42

  • Reads causal connections between people, treasures, and predetermined events. 43 48 49
  • Identified the Treasure Distribution Cliff’s restriction as a verification mechanism for pre-existing karmic ownership. 48
  • Before fully integrating the relic fragments, Taiyi could obscure Heavenly Secrets like a mist, but could only interfere with deductions below the Grand Unity Golden Immortal level and could not sustain the effect for long. 46
  • After completing the fusion, his own fate becomes so obscure that even Saint-level deduction is likely ineffective without direct Heavenly Dao intervention. 52 53
  • His own karma threads are blurred, distorted, and difficult even for himself to interpret. 42 43
  • Can briefly twist karmic relationships by instinct, mark individuals with personal karmic imprints, and inspect causal connections across a vast area. 52 74
  • Uses this perception to identify abnormal actors, assess hidden threats, and select treasures or opportunities not securely claimed by established karma. 49 70

Five Elements and Stellar Manipulation

Taiyi has developed practical insight into the balance, disruption, and coordination of large-scale elemental and stellar forces. 61 68

  • Through the imitation Li Di Yan Guang Qi, he can disrupt Five Elements circulation and provoke earth-vein upheavals within a limited area. 68
  • Can stabilize disturbed earth veins and establish simple formations to prevent renewed elemental conflict. 68
  • Harmonized the Taiyin star region’s seven major stars and twenty-eight secondary stars, correcting their circulation and coordinating them with neighboring stellar regions. 61
  • Detected deliberate blockages within the Heavenly Court’s star-power network while managing the Taiyin region. 61

Artifact Refinement and Fate-Reversal

Taiyi is capable of conducting highly dangerous artifact refinement using karmic fire, Creation energy, and his control of causal principles. 99

  • Borrowed karmic fire from the Karmic Fire Red Lotus and refined ten Fate-Reversing Talismans over forty-nine days. 99
  • The talismans conceal karma and Heavenly Secrets, enabling Golden Crow incarnations to resemble the true Golden Crows even under Saint-level scrutiny unless closely examined. 107
  • He develops the Golden Crow Substitute Plan to alter the fate of his ten nephews in the coming Ten Suns Across the Sky calamity. 95 99 107

Relationships

  • Di Jun — Elder brother, Heavenly Emperor, and Taiyi’s most consistent supporter. Di Jun worries about Taiyi’s reckless pursuit of forbidden power but repeatedly protects and backs him. 4 5 20 37 After Taiyi’s breakthrough and the approach of war, the brothers jointly develop battlefield tactics and continue to rely on one another’s support. 53 76 101
  • Shang Yang — Loyal Demon Saint who follows Taiyi closely. She notices an unfamiliar trace in his aura shortly after the transmigration. 1 4
  • Fei Lian — Loyal subordinate who provides Solar Essence, handles military matters, and follows Taiyi’s orders despite concerns about his methods. 5 14 15 He later leads Taiyi’s imperial guards during the Blood Sea expedition and remains fiercely protective of him. 97 99 100
  • Bai Ze — Wise Heavenly Court advisor. He warns Taiyi about celestial instability and later supports or investigates the consequences of Taiyi’s actions. 6 20 36 Bai Ze cannot calculate Taiyi’s chaotic fate, but recognizes its strategic value and supports Taiyi’s efforts to change the Demon Race’s future. 53 101 106
  • Kunpeng — Recruited by Taiyi as the Heavenly Court’s Demon Master in exchange for access to the outer Great Zhou Heavenly Stars Formation. Kunpeng is openly cooperative but privately suspicious of Taiyi’s changes. 11 13 His later attempts to trace Taiyi’s karma reveal an existence that disturbs observation and appears misaligned with heaven and earth. 70
  • Lu Ya — Young Golden Crow whom Taiyi mentors and seeks to protect from the fate awaiting him in the original timeline. 14

  • Houtu — Ancestral Witch whose transformation creates the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Taiyi witnesses her sacrifice and becomes more determined to alter the predetermined fate revealed by the event. 96 105
  • Old Ancestor Styx — Temporary ally and manipulative host during Taiyi’s recovery. Their Blood Origin Contract binds them to mutual support during the Calamity, though both retain ulterior motives. 29 31 Styx later attempts to exploit Taiyi’s weakened state and ultimately usurps reincarnation, leading Taiyi to defeat him and prevent further interference with reincarnation. 99 100 107
  • Chaos Bell Artifact Spirit — Taiyi’s awakened treasure spirit and symbiotic partner; the bell requires malevolent energy, while Taiyi needs its power to survive the Calamity. 7 10
  • Nuwa — A perceptive ally who recognizes Taiyi’s anomalous soul and his affinity with the future Human Race. She tacitly accepts his secrets, provides the Azure Scale Talisman, and supports him as a variable within destiny. 60 86 87
  • FuxiNuwa’s elder brother and a candid guide to Taiyi. His music reveals the Ten Suns Across the Sky prophecy and helps Taiyi understand that the details of destiny can be changed through deliberate action. 60 95

  • Ancestor Li Huo — An independent fire-aspected cultivator rescued by Taiyi from Western Religion cultivators. In return for Taiyi’s protection of Southern Bright Fire Mountain, he agrees to provide the Fire Harmonization Secret Art needed for Taiyi’s Golden Crow Substitute Plan. 106

Story Role / Major Arcs

Defiance at the Heavenly Court

Taiyi’s first major action is a speech at Lingxiao Palace demanding confrontation with the Witch Race and rejecting the Heavenly Dao’s fixed fate. The act completes his first forbidden sign-in, but also causes Chaos Demon God blood to emerge beneath the palace and briefly draws the Heavenly Dao’s attention. 4

Growth of the Chaos Bell

After stabilizing Chaos True Sun Fire, Taiyi signs in at the Sun Star and deepens both his connection to his birthplace and the Chaos Bell’s evolution. He subsequently awakens the bell’s spirit, gains Shaping and Time-Space Stasis, and agrees to help the bell collect malevolent energy. 5 6 7 9 10

Conflict at Buzhou Mountain

Taiyi recruits Kunpeng into the Heavenly Court, then leads three thousand demon soldiers to Buzhou Mountain to test the Witch Race. He deliberately provokes the Houtu Tribe, defeats Kuafu, and clashes with Di Jiang and Xuan Ming, escalating the Witch-Demon conflict. 11 14 15 16 17

Pangu Hall Infiltration and Sea of Blood Alliance

Following a system mission, Taiyi infiltrates Pangu Hall, overcomes its layered restrictions, signs in before the Heart of Pangu, and carves a defiant message into the hall. Pangu’s residual axe imprint nearly kills him, forcing him into a desperate escape through the earth veins. 20 22 23 24

While pursued by the Witch Race, Taiyi accepts Styx’s offer of refuge in the Sea of Blood. He forms a secret alliance through the Blood Origin Contract, recovers enough to return, then survives a coordinated Great Witch ambush. 29 31 34

Zixiao Palace and Karma Disruption

Taiyi travels with Di Jun, Fuxi, and Nuwa to Zixiao Palace for Hongjun’s sermon. By knocking over a cushion, he completes another forbidden sign-in and acquires the Karma Reversal relic fragments, causing his destiny to become increasingly obscure. 38 42

At the Treasure Distribution Cliff, Taiyi uses Causality Vision to identify karmically suitable treasures rather than competing for items destined for others. He later questions whether the Saint position is the only path to transcendence, reaffirming his intention to seek an escape beyond the Heavenly Dao’s script. 48 49 50

Forbidden Dao Breakthrough and Heavenly Court Operations

Taiyi spends nine months integrating the Karma Reversal fragments into his Three Flowers Dao Foundation, attaining half-step Quasi-Saint cultivation and establishing a forbidden path independent of Hongjun’s Saintly route. The Chaos Bell tolls for three days and nights, while Bai Ze confirms that Taiyi’s fate can no longer be calculated. 52 53

Acting as Di Jun’s hidden blade, Taiyi takes on special problems within and beyond the Heavenly Court. He coordinates stellar power, detects sabotage within the star network, settles frontier disputes, and develops the strategic mobility doctrine intended for the Witch-Demon war. 56 61 68 70 76

Human Race Aid and the Golden Crow Substitute Plan

After Nuwa creates the Human Race, Taiyi recognizes the human potential carried by his transmigrated soul and obtains a Human Race-related sign-in reward. He later sends an incarnation to teach Chu and the early humans the Kindling Body-Tempering Art, secretly improving their chance of survival. 86 88 89

Guided by Fuxi’s revelation of Ten Suns Across the Sky and Hou Yi Shooting the Suns, Taiyi resolves to save his ten nephews. He gathers materials, refines ten Fate-Reversing Talismans with Blood Sea karmic fire, and begins creating Golden Crow substitutes capable of deceiving fate. 95 99 107

Creation of Reincarnation and Defiance of the Heavenly Dao

Taiyi investigates Houtu’s impending transformation at the Blood Sea, survives Styx’s tests and schemes, and witnesses the establishment of the Six Paths of Reincarnation. His System reward reveals the complete fate fragment of the Ten Suns, Hou Yi, and the Witch-Demon Final Battle; Taiyi breaks through to Quasi-Saint and publicly warns other great powers away from reincarnation. 99 101 105

Three hundred years later, Styx pollutes reincarnation with Chaos Demon God essence and attempts to seize control. Taiyi confronts Styx and the Heavenly Dao itself, uses the Chaos Bell and his fate-defying preparations to derail the fixed calamity, and changes the Great Wilderness’s fate after a three-year struggle. The cost is his disappearance from the Great Wilderness into a newborn world, where he prepares to return. 107
