Background / History

Tang Hao was once regarded as the continent's youngest Title Douluo, but later became a disheveled, alcohol-dependent recluse. He himself acknowledges having fallen into the state of a drunkard. 21

He kept Ah Yin, a Blue Silver Emperor, in a hidden stone chamber behind Holy Soul Village alongside three high-grade soul bones, including the Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone. 25 38 He spent six years attached to the chamber before returning to find both Ah Yin and the soul bones gone. 38 39

Tang Hao is Tang San's father. He views Tang San and Xiao Wu as reflecting his past with Ah Yin, and is determined to prevent them from suffering the same tragedy. 37

When encountered in Nuoding City, Tang Hao appears as a burly middle-aged man in tattered clothing, with tangled hair and beard and a strong smell of alcohol. 21

Personality

Tang Hao is intensely protective of his son and of Xiao Wu, but this protectiveness drives him to ruthless acts. When Ye Shuyuan and Dugu Bo refuse to relinquish Xiao Wu, he attempts to force their compliance by seizing Ye Qingzhou as a hostage. 22

After being defeated by the God of Life's power, he becomes bitter and resentful over what he sees as unequal divine treatment between Ye Qingzhou and Tang San. 36 His anger escalates into paranoia after discovering Ah Yin and his stored soul bones missing; he immediately blames Ye Shuyuan and Dugu Bo. 38

Story Role / Major Arcs

Nuoding City Confrontation

Tang Hao confronts Ye Shuyuan, Dugu Bo, and Ye Qingzhou after they sense Xiao Wu's aura in Nuoding City. He claims Xiao Wu for the sake of his son and attacks when the two Title Douluos refuse to yield. 21 22

During the battle, Tang Hao uses Ye Qingzhou as a hostage. The God of Life intervenes through Ye Qingzhou, forcing Tang Hao to retreat. 22 23

Tang Hao activates the Slaughter God's Domain and his Martial Soul Avatar in an attempt to escape the God of Life-empowered Ye Qingzhou. Falling Petals Thousand Blades pierces his body, seals his soul power temporarily, and leaves him half-crippled before Asura rescues him. 23

Warning Tang San

Following his defeat, Tang Hao drinks heavily and questions why Tang San has not received treatment from Asura comparable to Ye Qingzhou's support from the God of Life. He then goes to Notting Academy to see Tang San. 36

Tang Hao tells Tang San that Xiao Wu is a hundred-thousand-year soul beast and presents Ye Shuyuan and Dugu Bo as intending to hunt her. He urges Tang San to cultivate, protect Xiao Wu, and keep the Clear Sky Hammer hidden unless his life is endangered. 37

Loss of Ah Yin and the Soul Bones

Tang Hao returns to the hidden stone chamber and finds Ah Yin and all three stored soul bones missing. Overcome by rage, he destroys part of the chamber and swears hostility toward Ye Shuyuan and Dugu Bo, whom he believes responsible. 38 39
