Qian Renxue concealed herself in Heaven Dou City as the Crown Prince, Xue Qinghe, intending to prove herself and eventually succeed to the position of Martial Soul Hall Pope. Her long-term absence from Martial Soul City also limited her ability to cultivate support among Martial Soul Hall’s senior members. Bibi Dong regarded this arrangement favorably, as Qian Renxue could otherwise have used Qian Daoliu’s backing to win elders to her side. 23

While maintaining the Xue Qinghe identity, she cultivated a public image of a gentle, refined, talent-valuing Crown Prince. This persona let her invite and investigate promising soul masters such as Su Chen without openly exposing her position in Martial Soul Hall. 53 54
