Background
Tang Hao is Tang San's father and Tang Yuehua's second brother. He spent much of the story searching for Ah Yin after her disappearance and the loss of her spirit bone, visiting sects and spirit master families outward from the waterfall where she had been hidden. This search left him unaware that Tang San had departed Notting Academy and entered the Star Dou Forest. 87
Tang San initially believed Tang Hao was secretly watching over him, relying on that presumed protection while planning dangerous expeditions. When Tang Hao failed to answer his calls, Tang San learned indirectly that his father was absent because of his search for Ah Yin. 68 87
Tang Hao's fruitless search lasts for more than a year and drives him into despair. In his rage, he destroys the waterfall hideout and attacks several minor sects and spirit master families while seeking even the smallest trace of Ah Yin. 104 105
After discovering a footprint at the waterfall, Tang Hao briefly suspects that Tang San may have taken Ah Yin and her spirit bone. He tracks Tang San down and questions him before hearing the truth of his rebirth. 105 106
Tang Hao eventually reunites with Tang San at Shrek Academy after investigating whether Tang San had taken the Blue Silver Grass from Ah Yin's hiding place. Tang San reveals his rebirth and recounts private details concerning Tang Hao, Ah Yin, and Tang Chen; Tang Hao moves from disbelief to partial acceptance. 105 107
Appearance
Tang Hao is associated with a dark, imposing presence and fights with the Clear Sky Hammer. After his defeat by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, his condition deteriorates drastically.
- Carries the Clear Sky Hammer in battle. 128
- Loses his left arm during his escape from Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo. 139 146
- Later bears more than a dozen deep sword wounds and is described as near death. 141
- His cultivation falls from Title Douluo to Soul Douluo, reaching level 85. 146
- Tang San's later healing treatments cause fleshy, vine-like tissue to grow from an arm stump rather than restoring Tang Hao normally. 248
- His aura remains far less domineering than in his prime and is still recognized as only Soul Douluo-level during the Spirit Master Tournament. 211 259
Personality
Tang Hao is fiercely protective of Tang San and those under his care. He confronts Martial Soul Hall elders to shield the Shrek group, escapes with Tang San and Xiao Wu despite severe injuries, and supports Tang San's strategic decisions after accepting the possibility of his rebirth. 128 131 118
He is also deeply attached to Ah Yin. Her disappearance consumes his attention, and seeing her alongside Su Chen causes him immense distress even when Tang San urges him to leave in pursuit of Xiao Wu's revival. 87 198
His pride as the Clear Sky Douluo makes his later weakness difficult to endure. The loss of his arm, his reduced realm, and the Clear Sky Sect elders' contempt leave him struggling to accept that he can no longer resolve major crises through strength alone. 146
Tang Hao can be ruthless when those he cares about are threatened. After realizing Tang Yuehua's controlled disciples only intended to subdue him, he abandons defense and crushes them with his hammer rather than holding back to preserve them. 167
Tang San's increasingly unstable divine inheritance eventually leaves Tang Hao frightened of his own son. Although he continues trying to advise Tang San and restrain his recklessness, he becomes afraid to object after Tang San repeatedly reacts with rage and forcibly subjects him to abnormal healing. 237 248 249
The cumulative loss of Ah Yin, Tang Xiao, his former power, and Tang San's decline also drives Tang Hao toward reckless hatred. During the Spirit Master Tournament, he openly taunts Qian Renxue, Sword Douluo, and Ning Fengzhi and urges Tang San to kill Su Chen. 255 260
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao's martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, which he uses as his primary weapon in direct combat.
- Faced Demon Bear Douluo and Ghost Leopard Douluo while defending the Shrek group. 128 129
- Used the Great Sumeru Hammer technique against the two elders. 129
- Clashed directly with Bibi Dong and knocked her back during his escape. 131
- Continued fighting beside Tang Xiao during the Clear Sky Sect's assault on the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, but his weakened state left him unable to match Bone Douluo. 171
Ring Detonation
Tang Hao can detonate soul rings to gain explosive combat power at tremendous personal cost.
- Used Detonation to escape Demon Bear Douluo and Ghost Leopard Douluo. 131
- Detonated soul rings while fighting Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo. 139
- Explained the technique to Tang San during the attempt to awaken Tang Chen. 159
- Its use worsens his physical condition and contributes to his later decline. 131 139
- The loss of his rings is lasting; Tang Hao later mourns the empty position where his ninth soul ring had once been. 159
Combat Experience
Despite inferior soul power, Tang Hao's real combat ability can exceed his realm.
- At level 92, Tang San believed he could still drive back or severely injure the level-94 Demon Bear and Ghost Leopard Douluos through Ring Detonation. 129
- His experience made Tang San regard him as a crucial source of security during dangerous investigations. 68 87
- His weakened condition eventually leaves him unable to match opponents he once could have confronted. 139 146
- He recognizes when direct resistance is impossible: after detecting Qian Renxue and six high-level consecrated elders, he prioritizes warning Tang San and fleeing over engaging them. 228
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Clear Sky Hammer — Tang Hao's martial soul and principal combat weapon. 128

- Left-arm soul bone — formerly possessed by Tang Hao, but detonated during his escape from Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo. 139 146
Relationships
- Tang San — son. Tang Hao gradually accepts Tang San's claim of rebirth, investigates Titan's death with him, and initially supports his decisions unconditionally. Tang San's later divine corruption strains their relationship, leaving Tang Hao fearful but still determined to protect and advise him. 106 107 118 249
- Ah Yin — Tang Hao searches relentlessly for her after her disappearance and remains emotionally unable to let go of her. Her transformation into Su Chen's Soul Tool and the scabbard of the Asura Demon Sword devastates him and becomes a central source of his hatred toward Su Chen. 87 105 197 255
- Tang Yuehua — younger sister. She desperately seeks news of Tang Hao after learning that he has lost an arm and is in dire condition. When she becomes controlled by an evil god, Tang Hao attempts to stop her and later accepts Tang Chen's conclusion that she was manipulated. 91 155 167 168

They fight together against the King of Slaughter, controlled Clear Sky Sect disciples, and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Tang Hao is forced to leave when Tang Xiao remains behind at Shrek Academy to face Qian Renxue's forces, resulting in Tang Xiao's death. 159 167 171 229 231
- Tang Chen — grandfather and elder of the Clear Sky Sect. Tang Hao helps attempt to restore Tang Chen's consciousness, urges caution rather than immediate retaliation, and survives alongside him after Tang San's failed attempt to make Tang Chen inherit the God of Asura's position. 159 168 183
- Bibi Dong — enemy from Martial Soul Hall. Tang Hao confronts her while protecting Tang San, Xiao Wu, and the Shrek group. 128 131

- Bone Douluo (Gu Rong) — adversary who assists Sword Douluo in overwhelming Tang Hao and later drives Tang Hao and Tang Xiao from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. 139 171
- Ning Fengzhi — adversary whose support skills turn Tang Hao's battle against Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo decisively against him. 139
- Titan — loyal Tang-family subordinate. Tang Hao and Tang San locate Titan's remains after his disappearance. 107
Story Role / Major Arcs
Search for Ah Yin
Tang Hao's search for Ah Yin and her missing spirit bone keeps him away from Tang San during the latter's early movements. He finds a footprint near the waterfall that he believes belongs to Tang San, giving him renewed hope and leading him to seek his son. 87 105
The lack of progress during this search leaves Tang Hao desperate enough to destroy the waterfall hideout and vent his rage on minor sects and spirit master families. 104 105
Reconciliation with Tang San
After reuniting with Tang San, Tang Hao hears the truth about Tang San's rebirth. Though initially skeptical, he accepts enough of the account to investigate Titan's disappearance with Tang San and to take Martial Soul Hall's threat seriously. 106 107
Tang Hao subsequently accepts Tang San's strategic judgment and supports his plan to gather allies against Martial Soul Hall, even as they discover the destruction of the Strength and Speed Clans. 111 118
Conflict with Martial Soul Hall
Tang Hao protects the Shrek group when Demon Bear Douluo, Ghost Leopard Douluo, and Bibi Dong attack. He uses Ring Detonation, clashes with Bibi Dong, and escapes with Tang San and Xiao Wu, but is left severely wounded. 128 131
Defeat by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect
While seeking aid against Martial Soul Hall, Tang Hao becomes the target of Sword Douluo, Bone Douluo, and Ning Fengzhi. Cornered, he detonates his soul rings and ultimately a soul bone to escape, but suffers catastrophic injuries. 137 139
Sword Douluo's pursuit leaves Tang Hao with more than a dozen deep wounds and near death before Tang San finds him and takes him back to the Clear Sky Sect. 141 142
Decline and Clear Sky Sect Crisis
Tang San brings Tang Hao to the Clear Sky Sect in critical condition. His missing arm and fallen cultivation reduce him to a Soul Douluo, leaving him unable to play his former role as the sect's foremost combatant. 142 146
Tang Hao nevertheless continues to aid Tang San, Tang Xiao, and Tang Chen during the struggle surrounding the King of Slaughter and Tang Yuehua's control of the Clear Sky Sect. 159 167 168
During the Clear Sky Sect's retaliation against the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Tang Hao and Tang Xiao are forced to retreat under Bone Douluo's pressure. Tang Hao later survives the failed Asura inheritance attempt that leaves Tang Chen armless and severely weakened. 171 183
Sacrificial Barrier
Tang Hao and Tang San fail to break the Sacrificial Barrier and witness Ah Yin with Su Chen. Tang Hao is reluctant to leave her behind, but ultimately follows Tang San's decision to seek the Goddess of Life's inheritance and save Xiao Wu. 198
Tang Hao's anguish is heightened by learning that Ah Yin, already remade into a Soul Tool, has been selected as the scabbard for Su Chen's Asura Demon Sword. 197 198
Return to Shrek and Renewed Flight
Tang Hao returns to Shrek Academy with Tang San, Tang Xiao, and Xiao Wu's body. His diminished aura and Tang Xiao's injuries make even Flender recognize that the once-feared Clear Sky Sect powerhouses are no longer at their peak. 211
When Qian Renxue leads six consecrated elders after them, Tang Hao warns Tang San that their weakened group cannot withstand a direct battle. He flees with Tang San and the Shrek group, eventually reaching the coast while Martial Soul Hall spreads their portraits across the continent. 228 232
Tang San's Divine Corruption
Tang Hao watches Tang San complete God Trials and gain new soul skills, but becomes increasingly concerned by Tang San's impulsiveness and violent changes. 236 237
Tang San's healing abilities are capable of treating Tang Hao's injuries, yet their bizarre mutations make Tang Hao fear being healed again. By Tang San's eighth God Trial, Tang Hao is terrified by his son's blood-red eyes, foul aura, and violent reactions to advice. 248 249
Spirit Master Tournament
Despite Tang Hao's objections, Tang San enters the Star Dou Empire's Spirit Master Tournament. Tang Hao struggles to understand Tang San's fixation on the tournament and his escalating cruelty toward others. 251
Tang Hao sees Ah Yin accompanying Su Chen at the tournament and initially wants to rescue her immediately, but Tang San restrains him until the competition is over. Witnessing Ah Yin forced to massage Su Chen further drives Tang Hao to urge Tang San to kill Su Chen. 254 255
As Tang San confronts Su Chen, Tang Hao abandons restraint and provokes Qian Renxue, Sword Douluo, and Ning Fengzhi. He watches Tang San detonate all nine of his soul rings, only for Su Chen to deflect the attack and shatter Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer, leaving Tang Hao enraged and disappointed. 260 261
