Background / History

Zhu Zhuqing fled the constraints of the Star Luo nobility and initially intended to find and monitor her betrothed, Dai Mubai. Chen An encountered her while she was being pursued and challenged her to seek strength and control over her own destiny rather than entrust it to another person. Moved by his offer, she accepted him as her master and became Phantom Star Academy’s first disciple 1 2.

At Phantom Star, Zhu Zhuqing inherited the abridged Nine Nether Profound Technique from the Technique Pavilion due to her exceptional affinity with it. Chen An’s teaching and the academy’s resources quickly reshaped her outlook: she chose not to follow Dai Mubai, instead treating his decadence as a reminder of the path she refused to take 3 5.

After reaching level 30, she endured the absorption of an 18,888-year God-Condensed third Soul Ring. The achievement made her the youngest recorded Soul Elder and granted her a powerful finishing technique, Lotus of Inner and Outer Killing 23 25.

Her independence became decisive during the Soul Master Tournament. Facing Star Luo Academy, Zhu Zhuqing rejected her family’s claims of affection and dismissed any continued connection to Dai Mubai. She then defeated all seven opposing combatants in the individual matches and later helped Luo Xiaoshi defeat the Hell White Tiger fusion skill 97.

When Zhu Zhuyun later called her back to Star Luo, Zhu Zhuqing returned with Ning Rongrong and Meng Yiran, protected by Dugu Bo and Gu Rong. She refused the Zhu Family’s demands to use Phantom Star connections for their benefit and rejected pressure concerning her marriage contract. Though uncomfortable in her former home, she offered Zhu Zhuyun limited help in a future crisis before returning to Phantom Star 110 115.

During Chen An’s absences and recoveries, Zhu Zhuqing took responsibility for academy administration. Zhu Zhuqing is fiercely independent. Her central goal is to control her own fate rather than remain bound by her family, engagement, or Star Luo’s hereditary expectations 1 45 97.

Though initially reserved, she develops a teasing, mischievous side around Chen An and her fellow disciples. She is highly competitive in cultivation and has attempted to gain an advantage through underhanded shortcuts, yet she also shows restraint and judgment when assessing battles 5 7 91.

She is protective of Phantom Star and its students. As interim leader, she makes difficult strategic decisions, coordinates counter-infiltration efforts against Spirit Hall, and volunteers to confront Qian Renxue in defense of the academy 125 172 174.

Zhu Zhuqing can be compassionate even toward former rivals. After defeating Zhu Zhuyun and Dai Weisi in the tournament, she delivered healing medicine to them; later, she offered Zhu Zhuyun a way to seek help during an emergency 98 115.
