Tang Wulin came from a commoner family for whom the 30,000 Federal Credits needed to purchase a martial soul would take years to save. Because her Blue Silver Grass was weak from birth, she began studying blacksmithing at an early age. 2 19

Her martial soul and bloodline began exhibiting anomalies during her early time at Eastsea Academy. Golden scales first appeared during a spar with Xie Xie, and later testing confirmed that her bloodline could form a Golden Dragon Claw.
