Background

Ye Xinglan was initially encountered alongside Xu Lizhi at a restaurant owned by the Xie Family. She arrived furious after believing Xie Xie and Tang Wulin had lured Xu Lizhi out to eat. 118

During the Skysea competition, she became Xie Xie's opponent after he deliberately provoked her. Although she won their match, she inflicted a severe injury after escalating to a life-threatening attack. Xie Xie nevertheless told her that victory was not worth her life and later described her as a good person who was simply too proud. 121 124 125

Haunted by guilt over the incident, Ye Xinglan spent three years training and applied to Shrek Academy to face Xie Xie and make amends. She transferred into First Grade Class One with Xu Lizhi, though her prepared apology initially failed to come out. 224 228
