Background

Tsunade is the granddaughter of Senju Hashirama, Konoha's First Hokage. She was trained under Sarutobi Hiruzen alongside Jiraiya and Orochimaru; the three became known as Konoha's Sannin 16.

Her younger brother, Nawaki, and her lover, Dan Katō, died while pursuing the village and Hokage ideals.
