Background / History

Ning Rongrong was Gu Linyuan's childhood sweetheart and the daughter of Ning Fengzhi. Before their separation, she had reached the two-ring Soul Grand Master stage while Gu Linyuan had shown no cultivation progress for years. Believing their future gap would only widen, she accepted the end of their relationship, invoking the saying, “a dragon does not dwell with a snake.” 1

After Gu Linyuan left the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Rongrong joined Shrek Academy. She became intrigued by the masked arena fighter Long Yuan, whose name and scepter-like Martial Soul gave her an inexplicable sense of familiarity. Despite this, she initially dismissed any possibility that he could be Gu Linyuan. 13 19

Long Yuan's overwhelming strength gradually eclipsed Rongrong's memories of Gu Linyuan. She came to regard Long Yuan as the ideal genius and resolved to pursue him, even declaring that she would accept being his concubine if necessary.
