Gu Rong Is My Uncle? Bibi Dong, Having Had a Taste, Wants More: Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well-What's That?
At the head seat.
Qian Daoliu's pupils contracted, too.
"Yu'er, are you sure?"
A rare trace of gravity colored Qian Daoliu's voice.
"The energy contained in a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring is incredibly violent. Even Titled Douluos have only a slim chance of surviving its absorption. Don't overestimate yourself!"
In Qian Daoliu's eyes,
Qian Yu was a peerless talent.
There was no need for him to gamble on an uncertain outcome.
The sacrifice of that Death Spider Emperor to Qian Yu had also been an accident.
Normally,
Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts were intelligent.
They wouldn't believe that sacrificing themselves would let them ascend to godhood alongside their chosen one.
When faced with certain death,
most would choose to self-destruct,
so their enemies couldn't obtain their Soul Rings.
"Your disciple is completely confident."
Qian Yu's expression was calm, but his tone was unwavering.
Seeing Qian Yu's self-assured, composed manner,
the shock in Qian Daoliu's eyes gradually faded, and his brows slowly relaxed.
He thought back over all the incredible things his last disciple had shown since childhood:
a terrifying physique far beyond that of ordinary people, spiritual power vast as the sea, and those unprecedented mutated Twin Martial Souls...
Suddenly, Qian Daoliu laughed in relief.
Yes, for anyone else, this would be courting death.
But for his monstrous disciple, it somehow seemed... only natural.
"Good!
You truly are my disciple, Qian Daoliu!"
Qian Daoliu abruptly rose to his feet, his eyes shining as he laughed heartily.
"Since you have such courage and confidence, your teacher will naturally give you his full support!"
After Qian Daoliu's hearty laughter, the atmosphere in the hall eased considerably.
Qian Yu bowed slightly, then took the opportunity to speak.
"Teacher, before we search for a suitable Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, I'd like to take Dong'er to the Heaven Dou Empire."
"To Heaven Dou City?"
Qian Daoliu looked momentarily startled.
"Yes."
Qian Yu nodded and explained softly.
"Mother is currently serving as a Platinum Bishop at the main hall in Heaven Dou City.
There's a great deal of work there, so she couldn't get away to attend our wedding this time. I'd like to take Dong'er to pay my respects to her."
Qian Yu remembered the letter Gu Ying had sent half a month ago.
His thoughts stirred.
He was actually related to Gu Rong?
Only then did Qian Yu suddenly recall
that his mother's surname was Gu, and her Martial Soul was the Shadow Dragon.
It shared the darkness attribute with the Bone Dragon.
If you stretched the connection, they could be related after all.
It had only been recently that Gu Ying
had met Gu Rong, the talented Soul Master who was rapidly making a name for himself in the Soul Master World.
Only after meeting him did she discover
that she and Gu Rong were actually relatives!
By seniority, Gu Rong was Gu Ying's younger brother—and Qian Yu's uncle!
Qian Yu found the whole thing absurd,
but he also thought it was rather nice.
Gu Rong was still a wandering cultivator, and hadn't joined the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.
With their family ties,
it wouldn't be unreasonable to recruit him into Spirit Hall.
Given Gu Rong's talent,
he was all but guaranteed to reach Super Douluo someday.
It'd be a shame not to bring him in!
Hearing this, Bibi Dong's thoughts stirred, and she instinctively clasped Qian Yu's hand tighter.
Now that they were husband and wife, it was only right to visit her mother-in-law.
At his words, Qian Daoliu nodded without hesitation.
"Gu Ying has certainly worked hard in the Heaven Dou Empire. You're newlyweds, and visiting your mother is only proper.
Go ahead. You don't need to worry about Spirit Hall."
"Thank you, Teacher."
Qian Yu bowed respectfully.
Qian Daoliu paused, as if remembering something, then continued, looking at Qian Yu.
"Oh, there's one more thing.
Your father, Qian Yuan, went into seclusion a month ago. By my reckoning, he should be emerging in the next few days."
Qian Yu's expression shifted slightly. He nodded.
"Yes, I understand."
After taking leave of Qian Daoliu and the other Worshippers,
Qian Yu took Bibi Dong's hand and left the Worship Hall, returning to their bridal chamber.
Back in the bridal chamber,
Bibi Dong shut the doors and windows tightly behind her as soon as they entered.
Before Qian Yu could react, she sprang into his arms like a nimble little cat,
knocking him onto the broad, cushioned bed.
Bibi Dong had gotten a taste and wanted more.
Her eyes shimmered with desire and affection, entirely undisguised.
Qian Yu hadn't expected it, either.
Who knew Bibi Dong had such a startlingly different side to her?!
After a fierce bout,
the room was filled with springtime warmth.
Bibi Dong lay quietly on Qian Yu's broad chest like a docile kitten.
Her breath was sweet, and the blush on her cheeks had yet to fade.
"Yu..."
Bibi Dong traced little circles on Qian Yu's chest with her slender fingers.
Her voice held the nervousness and worry of a new bride.
"Do you think... your mother will dislike me?
I was so awful to you before... What if she doesn't like me?"
"Don't worry."
Qian Yu chuckled, slipped an arm around her slender waist, and reassured her gently.
"My mother has a wonderful disposition, and you're Spirit Hall's Saintess.
You're extraordinarily talented, and you're so beautiful. She'll be delighted to meet you. She's sure to like you.
Just put your mind at ease."
Hearing Qian Yu say this, Bibi Dong finally let out the breath she'd been holding.
A sweet smile curved her lips, and she snuggled closer into his arms.
Qian Yu took her hand and spoke softly.
"Actually, besides visiting my mother, I have another important reason for going to the Heaven Dou Empire."
"What reason?"
Bibi Dong raised her head and looked at him curiously.
"I'm going to a place called the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well."
A glint flashed in Qian Yu's eyes.
"The Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well?"
Bibi Dong blinked her beautiful eyes, her face full of confusion.
"What kind of place is that?
How come I've never heard of it in any of Spirit Hall's records?"
Qian Yu chuckled and tapped the tip of her delicate nose as he explained.
"It's a true paradise.
Countless rare treasures grow there, things you'd never find in the outside world. They'll be of immeasurable benefit to both your cultivation and mine."
As he spoke, Qian Yu paused and looked at her intently.
"Dong'er, your Soul Power is at level fifty-six now, right?"
Bibi Dong nodded obediently.
"Mm, I only broke through to level fifty-six recently."
Qian Yu's lips curved with confidence.
"Once we get there and find the right treasures for you, your Soul Power should be able to break through its bottleneck and reach level sixty!
Then we can go straight out and hunt for your Sixth Soul Ring."
"What?!"
At his words, Bibi Dong pushed herself up from Qian Yu's arms, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Reach level sixty just like that?!
Four levels in one go?
How is that possible!"
Bibi Dong stared at Qian Yu in shock, her voice trembling slightly.
"Even Spirit Hall's finest Mimicry Cultivation Environment, combined with its most precious resources, couldn't let someone make such a terrifying improvement in such a short time!
What sort of treasure could do that?"
Seeing Bibi Dong's adorable, astonished expression, Qian Yu couldn't help chuckling. He reached out and ruffled her long hair.
"I'll keep it a secret for now. You'll see when we get there."
Bibi Dong shot him an affectionate, annoyed look, but didn't press him any further. Instead, she was filled with anticipation.
