Background / History

Naruto is a thin, isolated boy in Konoha who is hated by many villagers because Danzō spread the rumor that he is the Nine-Tails fox. The hostility leaves him unable to afford even instant noodles, though the truth is that he is the Nine-Tails’ jinchuriki rather than the beast itself. 4 5

He first befriends Uchiha Isho at a stream where they fish and cook together. Soon afterward, Isho formally takes the seven-year-old Naruto as his little brother before the Third Hokage, becoming Naruto’s closest supporter and early instructor. 4 5

Under Isho’s guidance, Naruto trains in throwing, tree-climbing, water-treading, chakra control, Transformation Technique, and clone techniques.
