Background / History

Shisui is an orphan whose earliest companions appear to have been crows; he says they have been around for as long as he can remember. His lack of family becomes apparent when he repeatedly sees Akatsuki home before returning alone himself 13 20.

While nominally enrolled at the Ninja Academy, Shisui is frequently absent. Files later found in Orochimaru's room show both flawless scores in ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, strategy, and written work, as well as numerous records marked “Absent!” or “Missed Exam!” 38. He was already assigned to a border squad before graduation, and Hyuga Isamu had previously helped cover for his use of a Shadow Clone at school 9.

Becoming Akatsuki’s Support

After the duel, Shisui brings Akatsuki to Team Minato for medical care and gradually becomes one of his closest confidants. He regularly trains with Akatsuki and Obito, escorts Akatsuki home, and intervenes when Akatsuki’s self-destructive training leaves him injured 11 13 15.
