Arc 11Return of the Fourth Hokage
Uzumaki Kuming recovered from his battle with Madara, returned to Konoha after four years, and backed Minato’s leadership while reconnecting with the village. As he began training Kakashi, Obito, and Rin, he uncovered a deepening Uchiha conflict that ended with the clan’s Great Elder challenging Fugaku’s loyalty.
- Uzumaki Kuming and Madara Uchiha fought over the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, and Minato Namikaze rescued the critically injured Kuming from the battlefield’s explosion.
- Kurama offered Kuming his Chakra in exchange for freedom, and Kuming agreed to become his partner and pursue peace between humans and Tailed Beasts.
- Kuming awoke four years later, met Naruto and Shisui Uchiha, and returned to Konoha after learning that Minato had become the Fifth Hokage.
- Kuming warned Hyuga Hiashi that the Cloud Ninja’s attempt to kidnap Hinata was likely intended to provoke Konoha, and Hiashi helped Minato seize the envoys.
- Kuming supported Minato as Hokage, planned to travel and train in Senjutsu, and agreed to consider becoming Ninja Academy principal afterward.
- Kuming tested Kakashi, Obito, and Rin, discovered Rin’s Three-Tails Chakra had formed a Tailed Beast Cloak, and promised to take the three students with him to grow stronger.
- Mikoto Uchiha asked Kuming to help with the clan’s worsening division, and Kuming pursued Ayako Uchiha to a hideout where cursed seals caused an explosion he contained with a barrier.
- Kuming investigated the crater and went to Fugaku Uchiha, where the Great Elder demanded that Fugaku choose between being clan head and serving as a Konoha Jonin.
