Just outside Moonbrook, old Grian excused himself, saying he still had things to do and wanted to scout the surrounding area, then left alone.
Shawn narrowed his eyes as he watched old Grian walk away. That old fox. Who knows what he's thinking or what he's planning? It's not like I can control him anyway.
On this mission to the Deadmines, VanCleef had refused Varian Wrynn's decree and naturally had no intention of returning the Deadmines to Stormwind City. Given Stormwind City's current situation, it could not launch an attack on the Deadmines anytime soon, so old Grian's hopes of taking control there had fallen through for now.
Perhaps the whole affair had put him in a bad mood, and he had gone off alone to clear his head. Of course, it was also possible that he still clung to those hopes and intended to do something about them.
But Shawn paid none of that any mind.
