"A Saiyan who transforms into a Great Ape," Soro grinned, his massive mouth stretching into a wide arc, "can increase their combat power by tenfold!"
"Huh?" Son Goku was even more shocked, his eyes wide as saucers and his jaw nearly hitting the floor, "Tenfold!"
"What? Tenfold?" Piccolo's pupils constricted as well, his fingers clenching involuntarily.
Son Gohan quietly wiped away sweat, his small hand brushing across his forehead.
A tenfold increase in combat power!
It was truly terrifying!
"I wonder if you can transform without a tail?" Son Goku looked envious, reaching back to touch the spot above his backside where his tail used to be.
He shook his head and sighed.
"But it seems I lose my reason when I transform, so even if I did, it wouldn't be of much use."
"Only a very small number of Saiyans can retain their reason after transforming into a Great Ape," Soro smiled, a hint of gentleness in his enormous eyes, "though one can regain their reason through rigorous training later on!"
"Is that so?" Son Goku felt stirred, his eyes brightening, "You can actually regain your reason? That's fantastic."
"Your father could maintain his reason while transformed as a Great Ape," Soro explained with a smile, his voice like rolling thunder.
"My dad?" Son Goku scratched his head, his gaze turning distant, "I don't have any memory of him at all."
"The biggest weakness of the Great Ape transformation is the moon." Soro did not continue the topic of Bardock, Son Goku's father, but instead looked up at the sky, his golden eyes reflecting the artificial light sphere, "As long as you destroy the moon, the transformation will vanish."
"That's true!" Son Goku nodded thoughtfully.
He paused.
Son Goku suddenly realized something and hurriedly asked, "Can Vegeta maintain his reason when he transforms into a Great Ape?"
Soro nodded, his chin dipping slightly.
"That means..." Son Goku drew a sharp breath, the hair on his arms standing on end, "If you hadn't intervened, Soro, could Vegeta and Nappa have transformed into Great Apes to fight me when they came to Earth?"
His Adam's apple bobbed.
"If that had happened, I'm afraid I wouldn't have been a match for him!"
Soro chuckled, his massive mouth curling into an arc, but he did not answer the question.
A flash of profound light crossed his golden eyes.
After all, in this timeline, that event had not occurred, so there was little point in dwelling on it.
"You may go." Soro waved his hand, his enormous palm stirring up a gust of wind, "I won't bully you any further."
"You scared me," Son Goku sighed, patting his chest, "I thought something had happened to you. I'm glad you're alright."
He had no intention of lingering, his body beginning to hover slightly.
"We'll head back now. Let's find another time to spar properly."
"Very well." Soro nodded, his chin dipping once more.
The three of them immediately flew away from the scene, their figures streaking across the sky until they became three tiny dots in the blink of an eye.
The wasteland returned to silence.
Wind blew from the distance, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Soro stood where he was, looking down at his massive body and then at his own form.
The reason he had let Son Goku and the others leave was that his clothes had been shredded when he transformed into a Great Ape.
If he were to revert to his normal state now, it would damage his image of greatness.
Soro's mouth twitched.
It seemed he would have to find a way to get a Saiyan-style battle armor.
That kind of armor had incredible elasticity.
When Vegeta transformed into a Great Ape, his armor hadn't been damaged at all.
Soro withdrew his gaze and sank his consciousness into his body.
He extended a massive finger and tapped into the void, landing on the [Combat Power × 500] skill icon.
The colorful icon flashed with light.
Instantly, Soro felt the energy within him surging wildly, like a volcano being ignited, with magma rushing through his veins.
A sensation of blood pumping through his body washed over him; his muscles bulged for a moment before settling back down.
However, this aura did not erupt outward; it was perfectly concealed deep within his body.
Like a sleeping beast, it lay in wait in the shadows, calm and composed.
In other words, to others, his current combat power still appeared to be 200,000.
But his true combat power had already reached 100 million.
Soro felt delighted, his massive mouth stretching into a grin that revealed a full set of sharp teeth.
Since he had experimented enough, Soro felt no further attachment to the Great Ape form.
It was just a pity that there was no way to transform into the mimicry Great Ape form like Broly.
Broly's mimicry Great Ape transformation only increased his energy by ten times and expanded his body slightly; that was all there was to it.
In truth, transforming into a real Great Ape made one too large, which was quite inconvenient for fighting.
He would just have to adjust it slowly in the future.
For now, he needed to hurry home and change into a new set of clothes.
He couldn't very well run around everywhere stark naked after reverting, could he?
Soro looked down at the few rags left on his body, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
"Whoosh!"
His body catapulted from the wilderness, his massive frame tearing through the air and turning into a bright streak of light.
The earth shrank rapidly beneath his feet, and mountains and rivers turned into mere lines.
He flew toward West City, his speed many times faster than when he had arrived.
Capsule Corp headquarters.
Bulma was standing in the courtyard watering the flowers, the hose gripped in her hand as the water shimmered in the sunlight.
She was humming a tune, in quite a good mood.
Suddenly, the sky darkened.
It was as if a massive dark cloud had blocked out the sun.
Bulma looked up, and the hose in her hand nearly dropped to the ground.
A gigantic black Great Ape descended from the sky, landing in the open space in front of the courtyard.
Its massive body blocked out half the sky, and its shadow cast her entire being into darkness.
Seeing such a behemoth appear out of nowhere, Bulma was scared out of her wits; her pretty face turned deathly pale in an instant, and her lips trembled.
"Y-y-you..." Her voice quivered, her legs went weak, and she collapsed onto the ground.
The hose slipped from her hand, bouncing a few times on the ground as water sprayed everywhere.
"Don't eat me..." Bulma waved her hands frantically in front of her, "I just peed... I don't taste good."
Her eyes turned red, and tears were on the verge of falling.
"Bulma."
The Great Ape spoke suddenly, its voice low and deep, like muffled thunder rising from the depths of the earth.
"It's me."
Bulma: "????"
Bulma was stunned at first, her eyes wide and her mouth slightly agape.
Her brain felt as if it had been jammed, unable to process the situation.
Following that, she asked tentatively, "Soro?"
"Yes." The Great Ape nodded, its massive head dipping as its golden eyes blinked.
Bulma slapped her forehead hard with her palm.
Only then did she suddenly remember that the Great Ape before her was very similar to the one Son Goku used to turn into when he was a child.
Black fur, golden eyes, thick arms.
So it was Soro after all!
