Background

Tang San is the son of Tang Hao, the Clear Sky Douluo, and Tang Yin, a Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor. Tang Yin sacrificed herself to save Tang Hao and became his ninth soul ring, leaving behind a soul bone intended for Tang San. 74

He grew up believing his father was merely a drunkard until Xiao Wu's soul beast identity was exposed. Yu Xiaogang revealed Tang San's lineage to deter Leng Jun, and Tang Hao subsequently emerged to protect his son. 65 69

After Tang Hao took him away from Shrek Academy, Tang San trained for over a year in the Clear Sky Hammer Technique and Mysterious Heaven Skill. Tang Hao also taught him the Clear Sky Sect's ultimate art, Ring Explosion, while warning that it severely damages the user and requires a complete set of soul bones. 113

Personality

Tang San is fiercely protective of those he considers family. He openly defies Leng Jun to shield Xiao Wu despite the overwhelming difference in strength, and he remains determined to avenge her after learning of her death. 65 172

He is also calculating and willing to harm himself for an advantage. During the Soul Master Tournament, he plans to break fragments from his Eight Spider Lances and use their venom as concealed weapons against Martial Soul Hall Academy. 160 162

Repeated losses and bereavements steadily turn his desire for strength into vengeance. In Slaughter City, he becomes increasingly ruthless, takes satisfaction in killing, and allows hatred to reshape both his outlook and his martial soul. 199 210
