Background / History

Bibi Dong was once the Holy Maiden of Martial Soul Hall and was deeply devoted to Yu Xiaogang. She used her status to grant him access to the fourth and fifth floors of the Martial Soul Hall library, only later realizing that much of their relationship had centered on his pursuit of the library's archives and research into mutated martial souls. She had also promoted his Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul, believing in both him and his ambitions. 9

Her personality was further shaped by being harmed by Qian Renxue's father, an event she later identifies as the reason she changed and came to resent her daughter. 61

Before the main events, Bibi Dong encountered the critically injured hundred-thousand-year soul beast Ah Rou in the Star Dou Great Forest. Ah Rou was already dying from an attack by other powerful soul beasts; Bibi Dong delivered the final blow and acquired her soul ring, rather than being the original cause of her mortal injuries. 38
