Background / History
Tang San is the physical son of Tang Hao and Ah Yin and Yu Xiaogang's disciple. The Sky Screen exposed him as a transmigrator and former outer sect disciple of the Tang Sect, revealing that his soul had occupied Tang Hao and Ah Yin's child's body after devouring the original child's soul 10 244 275 276. Though he feared rejection, Yu Xiaogang and the Shrek Seven Devils initially accepted him as their companion and disciple 10.
Selected to answer the first-spirit-ring-limit question, Tang San relied on Yu Xiaogang's theory and answered 423 years. The Sky Screen judged the answer wrong, revealing one million years as the correct answer; Tang San defended his teacher's research despite being shaken by the result 12.
The Sky Screen later punished him by removing his immortal herbs, Tang Sect hidden-weapon abilities, and related knowledge. The punishment caused him to collapse, leaving him in a weakened state 15.
Personality
Tang San is initially composed and confident in Yu Xiaogang's teachings, with an excellent memory for martial-soul theory 10 12. He is also highly calculating: he seeks gains from Sky Screen rewards, plans around future opportunities, and forms alliances for personal advantage 10 251.
The Sky Screen's revelations portray him as manipulative and ruthless toward those close to him. He knowingly cultivated Xiao Wu's feelings while intending to acquire her hundred-thousand-year soul ring and soul bone, then later informed the Clear Sky Sect of Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing's location 63 64 88. After Xiao Wu escaped, he resented her for depriving him and the sect of those gains 93.
Tang San displays pronounced hypocrisy and double standards in the futures revealed by Ye Mu. He destroys Slaughter City after acquiring benefits there while presenting the act as righteous, monopolizes the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well through Shrek, and neglects the Dugu family despite what it had sacrificed for him 244 259. His future ambition is centered on controlling both Douluo Planet and the God Realm, including deciding who may inherit godhood 250 276.
Even after suffering severe setbacks, he remains opportunistic. He concealed the Blood God Seal from Xu Tianran, accepted the latter's proposed cooperation for Soul Tools and future knowledge, and planned to exploit Xu Tianran for as much benefit as possible before discarding the arrangement 251 252.
Abilities & Skills
Martial Souls
Tang San possesses Twin Martial Souls.
- Blue Silver Grass — One of his innate Martial Souls 10.
- Clear Sky Hammer — His second innate Martial Soul and the hereditary Martial Soul of the Clear Sky Sect 10.
Martial-Soul Theory and Recall
Tang San retains detailed knowledge passed down by Yu Xiaogang, including the proposed 423-year first-spirit-ring limit.
- Recalled Yu Xiaogang's theory accurately when selected by the Sky Screen 10.
- His reliance on the theory led to an incorrect public answer 12.
Tang Sect Techniques
Tang San was formerly an outer sect disciple of the Tang Sect and retained several of its secret techniques after transmigrating 10 244.
- Purple Demon Eye — Allowed him to glimpse Xiao Wu's soul-beast identity after attaining sufficient proficiency 63.
- Mysterious Heaven Skill — An internal cultivation technique he attempted to use against Xiao Wu's divine punishment, though it proved ineffective against divine power 167.
- Mysterious Jade Hand — A defensive hand technique that Xiao Wu's divine light whips shattered with ease 167.
Tang Sect Hidden Weapons
Tang San possessed Tang Sect hidden-weapon techniques and knowledge before the Sky Screen's punishment.
- His hidden-weapon expertise was considered potentially useful to Ning Rongrong and others 11.
- The Sky Screen stripped him of these abilities and knowledge after his failed answer 15.
- Despite no longer possessing the required knowledge, Xu Tianran initially sought his assistance in crafting hidden weapons in exchange for Soul Tools 251.
Concealment
Tang San used secret methods to conceal his aura while hiding with Yu Xiaogang.
- Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing could not detect any trace of his soul power despite their god-level perception 166.
- He maintained constant vigilance with the Purple Demon Eye and carefully restrained his soul power while in hiding 166.
- Ye Mu later exposed Tang San and Yu Xiaogang's location through the Sky Screen 166.
Blood God Seal
Xiao Wu marked Tang San with the Blood God Seal after defeating him.
- The curse causes misfortune, stagnates cultivation, and imposes a soul-ring limit 168.
- The seal rooted itself within the origin of his soul, leaving a blood-red mark on his forehead 167.
- Tang San was left unconscious after receiving the seal and awakened in agony 167 168.
Divine Poison Affliction
Dugu Bo inflicted a further god-level poison upon Tang San in retaliation for Tang San's prior conduct concerning the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and its immortal herbs 298.
- The poison causes his genitals to explode once per day.
- Each episode requires ten shichen of recovery and leaves him in physical and mental despair 299.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Infernal Delicate Apricot and Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass — formerly consumed; their effects were removed by the Sky Screen before the herbs disintegrated 15.

- Tang Hao — Physical father. Tang San learned that Tang Hao had plotted against Ah Yin for her soul ring and soul bone; they later reunited while both were weakened and displaced 63 295 296.
- Ah Yin — Biological mother of the body Tang San occupies. The Sky Screen revealed that Tang San's transmigrating soul devoured her original son's soul, leading Ah Yin to regard him as distinct from her real child 10 244 275 276.
- Xiao Wu — Former companion whose trust Tang San exploited in pursuit of her hundred-thousand-year soul ring and soul bone; she later cursed him with the Blood God Seal 63 64 167.
- Ning Rongrong — Shrek companion who initially saw value in Tang San's hidden-weapon techniques; later joined Xiao Wu in confronting him 11 166.
- Zhu Zhuqing — Former companion targeted alongside Xiao Wu through Tang San's report to the Clear Sky Sect; later joined Xiao Wu in confronting him 88 166.
- Dugu Bo — Formerly associated through the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Dugu Bo came to regard Tang San as deceitful for taking the immortal herbs and personally inflicted a god-level poison on him 30 35 298 299.
- Xu Tianran — Uneasy ally from ten thousand years in the future. They agreed to exchange Soul Tools for hidden-weapon craftsmanship, while Tang San intended to use Xu Tianran as an informant and swindle him for further benefits 251 252.
- Huo Yuhao — A descendant from the future era who learns of Tang San's conduct and resolves to resist his schemes 244.
- Tang Wutong — His future daughter. Tang San's future control over godhood includes reserving high-ranking divine inheritances for his descendants, including her 250 276.
Story Role / Major Arcs

Xiao Wu Scheme Exposed

Betrayal of Former Companions
Tang San gives the Clear Sky Sect information on Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing's whereabouts, enabling an attempted interception for Xiao Wu's soul ring and bone. The Snow Empress intervenes, kills the sect's experts, and brings the two women to the Star Dou Great Forest 88.
Divine Retribution
After Xiao Wu becomes a god, she, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing track Tang San down outside the Clear Sky Sect. Xiao Wu assaults him with thousands of divine light whips and brands him with the Blood God Seal, crippling his prospects for further cultivation 166 167 168.
Alliance with Xu Tianran

Although Tang San considered himself a disciple of the Clear Sky Sect and wished to remain with it during its crisis, the sect is ultimately destroyed. Its fall leaves Tang San directionless, and he and Yu Xiaogang seek a safer place to stay 263 267.
Reunion with Tang Hao
Tang San and Yu Xiaogang later reunite with Tang Hao, who has recovered to Soul Sage rank but possesses only a twelve-thousand-year seventh soul ring due to the frailty of his Bamboo Shoot Hammer. The three decide to seek shelter in the Star Dou Great Forest and consider entering the Territory Competition 295 296.
Dugu Bo's Punishment
Yu Yuanzhen and Dugu Bo arrive at Tang Hao's residence to punish Tang Hao, Yu Xiaogang, and Tang San. After condemning Tang San for deceiving him over the immortal herbs, Dugu Bo inflicts a god-level poison that causes Tang San daily agony and further deepens his despair 298 299.
Future Fate

Tang San's future rule includes collecting dozens of divine inheritances and allocating higher-ranking god positions exclusively to those loyal to him or to his descendants. He also obstructs potential rivals, including Huo Yuhao, unless they submit to his control 250 276.
Trivia

- The Sky Screen's initial annotations publicly identified him as a former Tang Sect outer sect disciple with Twin Martial Souls 10.
- Future records describe him as a legendary Shrek Seven Devil who would become both the Sea God and Asura God, though his present condition differs sharply from that history 251.
