Shisui VS Root Organization

In a desolate, rarely visited corner of Konoha.

"You've come."

"Yes, I have come."

"Heh, I didn't think you would."

"Yet, here I am."

"Since you're here, you have only one path to choose: accept the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal and join my Root."

"No, I choose the second path."

"Then only the path of death remains." Danzō Shimura stared gloomily at the two Uchiha before him, preparing to signal his subordinates to strike.

In Danzō's eyes, four-year-old Itachi Uchiha posed no threat whatsoever.

As for Shisui, he was merely a minor inconvenience.

"Move in. Capture them."

At Danzō's command, the Root members surrounding the pair surged forward.

"Itachi, are you afraid?" Shisui ignored the surrounding enemies, turning to pat Itachi on the head.

"I'm not, Shisui-nii. If you get a chance to escape, don't worry about me. I don't want to be a burden to you."

Although in Itachi's heart, Shisui was incredibly powerful, they were currently facing dozens of elite ninja.

Itachi only hoped that Shisui could make it out alive.

"That's my boy, Itachi. But I won't be running away; it's they who should be fleeing. Get ready, and witness the true might of our Uchiha clan."

Before Itachi could react, Shisui closed his eyes. When he opened them again, the patterns of the Mangekyō Sharingan were slowly spinning within his sockets.

"Susanoo, activate!"

Violent chakra surged endlessly from Shisui's body, rapidly enveloping both him and Itachi, intercepting the shuriken, kunai, and other projectiles thrown by the Root members.

Then, the dark green chakra rapidly took shape. First the ribs, then the arms and skull; a green skeletal giant appeared in the center of the clearing.

"W-what is that monster?"

Although the Root members had been trained by Danzō to fear no death, they still felt a primal terror before the first form of Susanoo.

"That damned brat, he actually awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan."

Hiding behind his men, Danzō Shimura watched the power displayed by Shisui's Mangekyō with disbelief, his eyes swirling with envy, jealousy, disgust, and greed.

If I could obtain this power... no, it must belong to me.

The green skeletal giant swatted away the approaching Root members, and using the opening, the form of the Susanoo began to evolve further.

In an instant, flesh grew upon the skeletal giant, and its size increased steadily as it was filled with more chakra.

"Is this Shisui-nii's power... it's truly incredible."

Beside him, Itachi Uchiha looked up at the cold-faced Shisui. In Itachi's heart, Shisui had become an omnipotent brother, his image even more towering than that of his father, Fugaku Uchiha.

"First, let's clear out the small fry."

"Susanoo: Ninety-Nine Style."

The Root members were still reeling from the shock of the Susanoo when they saw countless green chakra arrows raining down upon them like a torrential downpour.

"Quick, organize a defense!"

Regaining his composure, Danzō scrambled to organize his chaotic subordinates; he was determined to claim those eyes from Shisui today.

"Earth Style: Earth Style Rampart."

This technique was an enhanced version of the standard Earth Style Wall, requiring multiple ninja to perform it simultaneously to form a wall as tall and thick as a fortress, offering far superior defensive capabilities.

"Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang..."

The green chakra arrows struck the Earth Style Rampart repeatedly, riddling the thick wall with holes and leaving it on the verge of collapse.

"Boom..."

The Earth Style Rampart, cast by over a dozen Root members, ultimately failed to withstand the full force of the second-form Susanoo, crumbling into countless boulders that scattered in every direction.

"Is this even the power of a human?"

Although there were no Kage-level powerhouses among these Root members, their seamless coordination meant that even an average Kage-level ninja would struggle against them.

Yet, when faced with Shisui Uchiha, they were completely helpless. Dozens of Root members were held at bay by that dark green giant—and the master of that power was only an eight-year-old child.

"Keep your heads in the game! A technique of this magnitude must consume a massive amount of chakra. He can't hold it for long. Attack!"

"Fire Style: Great Flame Bomb."

"Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere."

"Lightning Style: Thunder Ball."

While the power of any single jutsu was insufficient to shake the Susanoo's defense, the combined assault of dozens of B-rank and C-rank techniques was something even the second form of Susanoo might not be able to withstand indefinitely.

"Third form, activate."

Before these attacks could land, the green giant's body was covered in imposing armor, and its head was encased in a Crow Tengu Helmet, drastically increasing its defensive capabilities.

The combined impact of dozens of ninjutsu was no less than any S-rank technique; the sand and debris kicked up by the explosion even obscured the sky, and the resulting roar startled nearly half of Konoha.

"Did we get him?"

Amidst the astonished gazes of the crowd, the first things to emerge from the thick smoke were the iconic Crow Tengu Helmet of the Susanoo and the scarlet eyes beneath that armor.

"You've got to be kidding me, how are we supposed to fight this?"

"A monster... this isn't something we can possibly contend with."

The members of Root had already lost all hope of continuing the battle.

The defense of the Susanoo was indeed a hard counter to this type of area-of-effect attack.

However, Shisui was not having an easy time either; blocking those attacks had consumed too much of his chakra, a drain that even his current Kage-level reserves could barely sustain.

Furthermore, the commotion from just moments ago would inevitably alert the village, and once people arrived, he would no longer be able to do anything to Shimura Danzō.

I must end this quickly, Shisui thought to himself.

"Then, it is my turn to attack."

Under Shisui's control, the Susanoo gripped the Spiral Sword in its right hand tightly, the blade beginning to spin rapidly.

"Here I come."

Meanwhile, inside the Hokage Building, Minato Namikaze was listening to a report.

"Lord Hokage, the sensory division has detected a violent energy explosion on the east side of the village, cause unknown. Your Anbu are ready and can depart to investigate the situation at any time."

Inside the Hokage's office, a man wearing an identical cat-faced mask knelt before Minato Namikaze.

"What about the village's outer barrier? Were any intrusions detected?" Not knowing whether the party was friend or foe, Minato did not act rashly in his capacity as Hokage.

"The strange thing is, there are no abnormalities in the village's outer barrier, nor are there any signs of intrusion."

Hearing this, Minato let out a soft sigh of relief.

As long as it wasn't an outside invasion, it was fine.

"Notify the Anbu, we depart now. I will lead the team to the site of the explosion to inspect it."

"Yes, Lord Hokage."
