"The situation left me no choice. If I hadn't given it my all, I would've died!"
Sasuke smiled at Shisui and replied.
"Heh. Every cloud has a silver lining. Didn't you gain the power of the Sharingan during this crisis?"
Hearing Sasuke's words, Shisui suddenly chuckled.
Itachi had told Shisui that Sasuke had awakened the Sharingan. Shisui had found it hard to believe when he heard the news. Sasuke was so young, and he had only graduated from the Ninja Academy recently.
Of course, Shisui knew that age had nothing to do with whether a member of the Uchiha Clan could awaken the Sharingan. Even so, the fact that Sasuke had awakened it came as a great shock to him.
"The Sharingan?"
Shisui's reminder made Sasuke pause. Only then did he remember that his eyes had indeed changed when he'd used Chidori to attack Iwayano. Otherwise, how could he have seen through Iwayano's Camouflage Invisibility Technique?
"Ha! I finally have the Sharingan!"
Realizing that he had awakened the Sharingan, Sasuke grew so excited that he nearly leaped out of bed.
Any Naruto fan knew what the Sharingan could do. As one of the Three Great Dōjutsu, it was a power any ninja would want. Sasuke, who desperately needed to grow stronger, wanted it even more. He had dreamed of awakening the Sharingan as soon as possible.
"Sasuke, having the Sharingan doesn't prove anything. If you want to become an excellent ninja, you still need to train hard!"
Worried that Sasuke might grow complacent now that he had the Sharingan, Shisui quickly cautioned him.
Understanding what Shisui meant, Sasuke smiled. "Don't worry, Shisui. I was just excited. I won't let it go to my head."
"Good. Activate your Sharingan and let me see."
Shisui nodded, then spoke softly.
Without asking why, Sasuke immediately did as Shisui said. He closed his eyes, activated his Sharingan, then opened them.
"H-How is this possible?"
When he saw two tomoe in each of Sasuke's eyes, Shisui was stunned.
"What's wrong?"
Shisui's expression startled Sasuke. He worried that something was wrong with his Sharingan.
"Sasuke, when members of the Uchiha Clan awaken the Sharingan, their eyes turn red and a tomoe appears in each one. That's the Sharingan's initial form. But yours went straight to the Two-Tomoe Sharingan. That's extremely rare! I've never seen it before."
Shisui took a long moment to calm himself before explaining.
"The Two-Tomoe Sharingan?"
Sasuke snatched the mirror from beside his bed and stared at his Two-Tomoe Sharingan in disbelief.
In the Naruto anime, Sasuke's Sharingan had only had one tomoe the first time he awakened it. Had his transmigration changed things?
Sasuke didn't know that after he had transmigrated, he'd trained even harder by using Shadow Clones, and his body had benefited the most.
His bones, meridians, chakra, and everything else had gradually grown stronger through his intense training.
With his strength increased and the intense shock he'd experienced, it was hardly surprising that Sasuke's Sharingan had gained an extra tomoe. Obito, too, had awakened the Two-Tomoe Sharingan when he tried to save Rin.
"Sasuke, don't worry. I don't know why you awakened the Two-Tomoe Sharingan right away, but it won't hurt you in the slightest."
"To go from one tomoe to two, you need to train hard for a while, increase your chakra's potency, and make more use of the Sharingan."
Seeing how stunned Sasuke looked, Shisui hurried to reassure him.
"Then do I need to train hard to evolve it into the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, too?"
As soon as Shisui finished speaking, Sasuke asked eagerly.
Having watched Naruto, Sasuke knew that the Two-Tomoe Sharingan could see through some jutsu and copy certain moves, but it wasn't the highest form.
To gain the Sharingan's full abilities, Sasuke had to evolve it into the Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
"Of course! And evolving from two tomoe to three is far more difficult than the earlier evolution. You should be prepared for that. A few days—or even a few dozen—of training won't be enough."
Shisui nodded and answered honestly.
Sasuke frowned. If evolving his Sharingan into the Three-Tomoe Sharingan took that long, even accelerating his training with Shadow Clones would probably take a month. The Uchiha Clan and Konoha were on the verge of coming into conflict. He couldn't afford to waste time.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go train!"
Having made up his mind, Sasuke immediately jumped up and shouted.
But the moment he got to his feet, a heavy weakness swept through him. His knees buckled, and he collapsed right back onto the bed.
"Heh, Sasuke. In your current condition, you'll need to lie there for a few more days before you recover. Put training out of your mind for now!"
Shisui chuckled at Sasuke's dismay.
"I-I'll come find you at the Training Ground this afternoon!"
After saying this, Sasuke's vision went black, and he fell asleep.
Activating the Sharingan had drained his strength. Sasuke could only recover by sleeping.
Seeing how quickly Sasuke had fallen asleep, Shisui smiled and shook his head before vanishing from the room.
The medical care at Konoha Ninja Hospital was excellent. After two days of recuperation, Sasuke had fully recovered.
He completed his discharge paperwork early in the morning, left the Ninja Hospital, and officially rejoined the team!
After the Iwayano incident, the Third Hokage assigned Kakashi's team more D-Rank Missions for safety's sake. Naruto strongly objected, but under the old man's intimidating authority, he had no choice but to give in.
Sasuke didn't object to taking D-Rank Missions. Once they were done, he could train with Shisui and prepare to evolve his Sharingan.
After completing three D-Rank Missions that morning and meeting the team's quota, Kakashi took Sasuke, Naruto, and Haruno Sakura to the woods that afternoon to practice tree climbing and chakra control.
Perhaps because they had experienced a battle to the death and wanted to grow stronger, Sasuke and the others trained exceptionally hard. From start to finish, they didn't slack off for a moment, which pleased Kakashi.
After training, Sasuke said goodbye to Kakashi and the others, then headed to the Training Ground to meet Shisui as they had agreed.
Shisui took Sasuke's training seriously and hadn't stood him up. He had arrived at the Training Ground early to wait for him.

The test was quick, taking only half an hour. But the results left Shisui deeply shocked.
