Background / History

Itachi was already an Anbu member at age eleven, having graduated from the Ninja Academy at seven and become a Chunin at ten. During this period, he trained his younger brother Sasuke, beginning with the Shadow Clone Technique and later sparring with him regularly. 2 11 125

When Danzo’s Root operatives ambushed Shisui, Itachi intervened with Sasuke. He incapacitated and killed Qinyu with genjutsu, then carried the critically wounded Shisui to Izumi for treatment. Danzo subsequently identified the Uchiha Clan as an enemy and intensified plans to eliminate it. 40 41

As Konoha pursued the relocating Uchiha Clan, Itachi led a decoy squad intended to draw away enemy forces. He accepted Yu Uchiha and four clansmen remaining behind to delay the pursuers, fought Aoba Yamashiro’s squad, and led the survivors onward despite mounting casualties. 56 58 59

During the conflict with Danzo, Sasuke was gravely wounded while protecting him. Believing his brother might die, Itachi awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and used Amaterasu against the attacking Anbu. He later exhausted nearly all of his chakra fighting Danzo and the remaining forces. 76 77 82

Following the Uchiha Clan’s survival and establishment of Sky Hidden Village, Itachi continued serving as one of its strongest fighters. He fought Kirigakure forces, participated in the Land of Iron campaign, and repeatedly prioritized reaching or protecting Sasuke during battle. 129 140 185 186

Personality

Itachi is calm, patient, and consistently protective of Sasuke. He comforts Sasuke after setbacks, teaches him techniques despite his youth, and repeatedly promises to protect him no matter the danger. 2 6 32

In battle, he is controlled and analytical rather than reckless. He exploits deception, clones, genjutsu, and copied techniques to create openings, but can become intensely vengeful when Sasuke is harmed. 59 65 76 129
