Naruto went with Hyuga Kinta to the Hyuga Clan's estate. There, he saw several outsiders. Their Forehead Protectors identified them as people from Kumogakure.

Naruto recalled that Konoha had recently seemed to be in conflict with Kumogakure, and relations between the two villages appeared tense. Why were there Kumogakure shinobi here?

After Naruto arrived at the Hyuga estate, he was taken to the main hall. Hyuga Hiashi was seated on a cushion. Hyuga Kinta reported to him, "Clan head, I've brought Naruto Uzumaki."

Hiashi poured Naruto a cup of tea. Naruto thanked him, then sipped it for a while.

Only then did Hiashi ask, "Hinata told me you have the Byakugan, the kekkei genkai passed down through my clan. I'd like to understand where yours came from. I hope you don't mind.

Our ancestors originally lived on the moon, but then our forefather, Tenji Hyuga, came to this world from the moon.

"To distinguish ourselves from another branch of the Ōtsutsuki Clan, we changed our surname to Hyuga. The reason was that our branch inherited our ancestor's eyes, the Byakugan, while the other branch inherited his physique."

Hinata stared at Naruto in surprise. She hadn't expected him to say something like that to Hiashi, but she was also overjoyed. So Naruto-kun likes me, too.

Hiashi looked at Naruto's determined expression and Hinata's happy face, then sighed quietly. But he still had to ask what needed asking.

Hiashi looked at Hinata. "Hinata, do you like Naruto, too?"

When Hiashi asked whether she liked Naruto, Hinata's face turned bright red. She lowered her head and softly answered, "Yes." Naruto looked at Hinata, overjoyed.

"Naruto, since Hinata likes you too, I won't stand in your way. But if you make Hinata sad, I'll kill you," Hiashi said helplessly.

Hiashi couldn't stand watching them flaunt their affection in front of him. "All right, we're done here. You two can leave." After Naruto and Hinata stepped outside, they talked for a long time, then left the Hyuga estate.

On a dark, windy night, a man in black sneaked into the Hyuga estate and slipped into Hinata's room, intending to kidnap her.

But just as he was about to approach Hinata, several chains suddenly burst out of the ground and bound him tightly. The commotion startled the guards and woke Hinata, who had been asleep. A dozen Hyuga rushed into the room.

When the guards entered, they saw a man in black bound by chains and Hinata, who had just woken up. Hinata stared blankly at Naruto in the doorway. The chains wrapped around the man had come from Naruto.

Hizashi Hyuga hurried over to Hinata and asked anxiously, "Hinata, are you all right?"

"I'm all right, Uncle Hizashi. Naruto-kun saved me," Hinata replied.

Hiashi arrived then. After Hizashi quickly explained what had happened, Hiashi went over to Naruto and said, "Thank you for this, Naruto."

Naruto grinned. "It was the right thing to do. I promised you I'd protect Hinata. I keep my word—that's my ninja way."

Hiashi looked at Naruto with approval. "Good. I was right to entrust Hinata to you. You've kept your promise. Now, Naruto, come with me to hand this criminal over to the Third Hokage and explain what happened."

"Sure," Naruto replied.

Naruto and Hiashi escorted the man in black to the Hokage's office building and handed him over to Ibiki. Then they went to the Hokage's office and waited for the Third Hokage to arrive. After a while, Naruto saw the Third Hokage arrive at the office with the two advisors, Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura.

After the greetings, the Third Hokage said, "Ibiki has finished interrogating him. The man is a Jonin from Kumogakure, and he likely infiltrated the Hyuga estate to steal the Byakugan.

"Even if the mission failed, it could still have triggered a war between Konoha and Kumogakure. Fortunately, Naruto stopped him. By the way, Naruto, how did you end up at the Hyuga estate?"

Naruto replied, "I saw a few people from Kumogakure when I went to the Hyuga estate today. I sensed their malice, so I kept watch outside the estate tonight. Sure enough, something happened."

To Naruto, Hinata was his greatest vulnerability. Anyone who dared hurt her would have their whole family killed by Naruto. His anger had reached its limit, and he could explode at any moment.
