After Sasuke sealed one of the Eight-Headed Serpent's heads inside Shikamaru, all their friends gathered around him in concern. Naruto asked anxiously, "How are you, Shikamaru? How do you feel? Everything okay?"
Shikamaru shook his head. "I'm fine. No problems. Having that enormous amount of chakra enter my body felt uncomfortable at first, but I feel great now. I feel stronger than I've ever been. With this power, I believe we're closer to what we've been hoping for."
Naruto breathed a sigh of relief. He had actually been quite uneasy. Despite the Weapon Spirit's assurances, the Eight-Headed Serpent's power was simply too immense and evil. Until he saw for himself that Shikamaru was all right, he couldn't rest easy.
"Good, as long as you're okay," Naruto said. "Who's next?"
"Me! Me!" Kiba said.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata nodded. Hinata released another head, and the instant it appeared, Naruto sliced it off with his sword. Sasuke then used the power of Yasaka Magatama to seal the Eight-Headed Serpent's head inside Kiba.
After the sealing, Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata watched Kiba closely, concerned about any changes. When nothing happened to him, they finally felt truly relieved. Once they were completely certain that the sealing had no adverse effects on the jinchuriki, the three of them picked up the pace.
Before long, after Shikamaru and Kiba, Shino, Sakura, Ino, Choji, Tenten, and Lee had all successfully had the remaining six heads sealed inside them.
