The moment Naruto walked through the door, he saw Karin collapsed on the entryway floor. He rushed over to check on her, and only when he discovered she was merely unconscious did his heart finally settle.
Naruto carried Karin to the bed and laid her down, calling urgently, "Karin, wake up! What happened? Why did you pass out? Come on, wake up!"
Perhaps hearing Naruto's voice, Karin slowly came around. When she saw him, she cried happily, "Naruto, you're back!"
"Karin, what happened? Why were you unconscious?" Naruto asked worriedly. At his question, Karin grew embarrassed and lowered her head without answering.
When Karin didn't answer, Naruto grew even more anxious. He was about to ask again when a growl... came from her stomach. Her face instantly turned as red as an apple.
Naruto's face darkened with exasperation. "Don't tell me you passed out from hunger," he asked incredulously. Karin blushed even harder.
"You haven't eaten anything since noon, have you?" Naruto asked tentatively. Karin nodded.
Naruto pressed a hand to his forehead. "I give up. How old are you? Don't you know to go out and get something to eat when you're hungry?"
"I was going to!" Karin hurriedly protested. "But I passed out when I reached the entryway. Who knew practicing Sealing Jutsu would use up so much chakra? I only realized I was hungry after I'd exhausted all my chakra."
"Sealing Jutsu?" Naruto asked in confusion. Only then did he notice the pile of scrolls on the far side of the bed. He finally understood that the silly girl had become so absorbed in practicing Sealing Jutsu that she'd forgotten to eat or sleep. After exhausting her chakra and going nearly a whole day without food, she'd fainted. Naruto didn't know whether to laugh or get angry.
