In the Hyuga Clan's main hall, Naruto and Hinata sat across from Hiashi, while Hanabi sat to one side. Hiashi took a sip of tea and said, "You said you're going with Lord Jiraiya to find Lady Tsunade?"
Naruto sat up straight. "Yes. Pervy Sage said we're leaving tomorrow morning to find Granny Tsunade, and that I have to go with him this time. I want to go, too. I can learn from his experience while I'm with him, which should help me grow. There isn't much for me to do in the village right now anyway. The old man is busy forming an alliance with Sunagakure, so he won't be assigning any missions for a while. This is a good chance for me to learn. With Pervy Sage guiding me, I'm sure I can improve."
Hiashi nodded. "That sounds good. Going out and gaining experience will certainly help you grow stronger." He clapped his hands, and a Hyuga Clan member came in carrying a tray. Hiashi took an envelope from it, then gestured for the clan member to leave.
Once the clan member had left, Hiashi returned to his seat and placed the envelope in front of Naruto. "Keep this safe. When one of our Hyuga Clan travels with Lord Jiraiya to train, we can't expect him to cover all the expenses. This should be enough for both of you."
Hiashi's words filled Naruto with warmth. Is this what it feels like to have an elder care about you? I haven't felt this in so long. This is the first time anyone besides my parents has made me feel this way. It also meant Hiashi had accepted him as his son-in-law. Deeply moved, Naruto said, "Thank you for looking out for me, Uncle Hiashi." He put the envelope away.
