Naruto mourned Anko while guiding young ninja through training and a dangerous escort mission, as the Kage prepared for a summit. The arc ended with Naruto and the other Kage confronting demonized attackers and learning that a demonic force was targeting them.

• Naruto and Sasuke defeated Thanatos with the Three Sacred Treasures and learned that two shadows had arranged their journey from the future.
• Naruto grieved over Anko, who comforted him before her soul faded, and Sasuke accepted Naruto's apology as the young Naruto and Sasuke returned to their own time.
• Naruto and Hinata followed Hanabi and Mie into the Forest of Death, where the girls killed a giant white snake, then arranged for Hinata to guide Hanabi through a mission exercise.

The Five Kage Summit began amid disputes over an alliance, while Sashirō opened its barrier for the approaching invasion and Heaven Slayer set out to meet Naruto.

• The Third Tsuchikage told Naruto how Hashirama and Madara founded Konoha and how Madara later sought to conquer the Shinobi World, while Sasuke escorted Mei Terumi and her guards toward the Land of Iron through the Demon Sea.
• Sasuke and Naruto learned that Mei Terumi and Kurotsuchi were receiving dragon legacies, then shared their past-life memories and transformed into pythons to absorb demonic energy.
• Tsunade's group fought Jis William's forces, and Obito, Rin, and Hinata helped drive the attackers back as Jis escaped and Aris was rescued by a dark figure.
• Naruto and Sasuke confronted Kallet Lucifer in a sealed village, escaped his tracking chains, absorbed the God Tree, and transformed into powerful dragons.
• The leaders gathered in the Land of Iron, where Naruto reunited with Hinata and Gaara and discussed forming an alliance against the Lucifer clan, while Danzo rejected the Daimyo's demand to eliminate Naruto.

Naruto and his allies fought the Demon Race and Heaven Slayer, then sealed the Eight-Headed Serpent and agreed to strengthen ties among the villages. After leaving Konoha with Jiraiya, Naruto visited Sunagakure and Iwagakure, where he tried to improve village cooperation before confronting Roshi.

• Sashirō destroyed the barrier and became a demon, but Princess Tamahime spared him as Naruto revealed that he had let Sashirō open the way for his plan to destroy the incoming demon forces.
• Kallet Lucifer attacked the Five Kage Summit, and Naruto fought him with Kurama’s power before releasing him at Hinata’s plea, and Heaven Slayer then arrived and clashed with Christina until Lola persuaded them to stop.
• Heaven Slayer shattered the Three Sacred Treasures and defeated Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata, but the artifact spirits revealed that the broken seal would release the Eight-Headed Serpent.
• Naruto, Sasuke, Hinata, and Itachi worked with the artifact spirits to divide and seal the serpent inside Shikamaru, Kiba, Shino, Sakura, Ino, Choji, Tenten, Lee, and Neji.
• After a week in Konoha, Naruto left with Jiraiya to train, while Nagato ordered Akatsuki to avoid the Demon Race and Heaven Slayer and Christina prepared to withdraw her legions.

• Naruto gained Son Gokū and Kokuō’s chakra, persuaded Ōnoki to arrange an exchange between Konoha and Iwagakure’s graduating classes, and watched Konohamaru lead the students in a live combat exercise.
• Naruto helped Sora accept and control Kurama’s chakra, captured Kazuma, and saw Sora choose to keep his power and travel the world.
• Naruto rescued Shingetsu from the plot against the Yuki Clan, brought him to the Fifth Mizukage, and left after reflecting on how people treated those who were different.
• Orochimaru led Sasuke to absorb the souls of dead ninja, then formed his Blood Dragon by sacrificing prisoners and sensing powerful fighters across the world felt his star fate emerge.
