Background / History
Gu Yuena is the Silver Dragon King, a cold and noble seventeen-year-old-looking girl with authority over the Dragon Race and Soul Beasts. Although known as the Lord of Soul Beasts, her foremost concern is the survival and revival of the nearly extinct pure-blooded Dragon Race. Her true body rests beneath the Lake of Life in the Star Dou Great Forest, severely injured and unable to act freely. Di Tian serves her with absolute loyalty. 24 53 56
After learning of Xiao Yi’s unusual martial soul, Gu Yuena regards him as a possible key to reviving the Dragon Race. She erases and fabricates Xian Lin’er’s memories, then sends an avatar to Shrek Academy under the identity of a level 41 transfer student. Her initial plan is to investigate Xiao Yi, bring him under her control, and exploit his bloodline to produce dragons. 53 55 62
While studying human civilization, Gu Yuena becomes increasingly alarmed by the imbalance between humans and Soul Beasts: Soul Masters gain strength in years, while Soul Beasts require tens or hundreds of thousands of years of cultivation. She concludes that conventional Soul Beast survival is heading toward extinction, yet cannot initially find a solution. 62 74
Xiao Yi ambushes her avatar after detecting the attraction between their martial souls. He blocks her spatial escape and uses the Jade Snake Three-Flower Pupils to subdue her completely. The avatar is subsequently made into his fifth Soul Ring; its connection to Gu Yuena’s true body is cut, preventing its return and creating an independent clone. 74 75
The contracted avatar develops two distinct consciousnesses. Gu Yuena’s original personality remains proud, hostile, and determined to escape, while the newly awakened Na’er is innocent, obedient, and strongly attached to Xiao Yi. Over time, Gu Yuena accepts cooperation after Xiao Yi offers to locate Dragon Valley, heal her true body, and establish a mutually beneficial Soul Beast contract system. 75 77 89 97
Gu Yuena later returns to the Star Dou Great Forest with Xiao Yi, reasserts her authority over Di Tian and the ferocious beasts, and reveals her massive silver dragon true form within the Lake of Life’s secret realm. As Xiao Yi’s life force treats her injuries, she gradually accepts him as an irreplaceable partner in the Dragon Race’s future. 122 124 163
Appearance
Gu Yuena appears as an otherworldly young woman with ankle-length silver hair, snow-white skin, and clear purple eyes. Her beauty is described as sacred, ethereal, and difficult to approach; even her slightly pale complexion emphasizes her fragile elegance. 24
- Long silver hair that shines like crystal, often worn loose or in a high ponytail. 24 90
- Deep purple eyes; in dragon form, she possesses purple dragon eyes. 24 122
- Usually wears a plain white gown or dress, though her academy identity also uses black-and-white robes. 24 90
- Maintains a cold, noble, and aloof bearing that sharply contrasts Na’er’s softness and openness. 75 89
- Her true form is a massive silver dragon. 123
Personality
Gu Yuena is calculating, proud, and intensely focused on the Dragon Race’s continuation. She views the revival of dragon bloodlines as more important than ordinary Soul Beast concerns and initially treats Xiao Yi as a resource to be controlled for that goal. Her plans are often framed around her “world-shaking wisdom,” though she can underestimate human motives and changing circumstances. 53 56 62 89
Her initial composure collapses when Xiao Yi subdues her avatar, revealing fear, anger, and a fierce refusal to submit. Even when forced into cooperation, she remains guarded and distrustful, particularly regarding access to Di Tian and her other subordinates. 74 77 96
As she spends more time alongside Xiao Yi, Gu Yuena becomes possessive and jealous of his interactions with Bi Ji, Zi Ji, and other women. She usually disguises these feelings behind coldness, sarcasm, or irritation, but gradually becomes more open about relying on him and allowing him to shoulder part of her burden. 122 127 135 163
