When Konoha's leadership heard what had happened, they immediately sent the Anbu to the Uchiha compound. The Third, Sarutobi Hiruzen, ordered the Anbu to collect the bodies of all the Uchiha clansmen and take the unconscious Uchiha Sasuke to Konoha Hospital.

One evening, Itachi-sama found the Third, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and sent away all the Anbu guarding Hiruzen. Hiruzen promised that he would take responsibility for Sasuke's life and upbringing. Only then did Itachi-sama leave Konoha.
