Taelan was going to bid farewell to Dalaran tomorrow, and he felt quite happy about it!
After all, he hadn't had to endure his mother's nagging for many days! Jaina, however, did not feel the same. She had been pouting since she woke up that morning! Daelin saw his daughter's expression and knew she didn't want Taelan to leave; after all, she didn't have many playmates she got along with. If only she could get along with Fenna!
Daelin knew it wasn't the right time yet; Jaina was still too young. If she let something slip, it would be a huge problem.
He had no choice but to change his plans for the day and stay by his daughter's side.
Better to go and see that old fellow Fordring off first! That little guy who could say, "One man's hero is another man's villain," was much cuter than him. If only he were my son...
The four of them soon met up and had breakfast together. Tirion Fordring led his son to bid farewell to Antonidas and the Archmage Krasus one after another! Tirion even invited the latter to visit Hearthglen when he had the time.
Jaina held Taelan's hand as the two walked along the streets of Dalaran. Jaina pouted and said, "Taelan! When you get back to Hearthglen, remember to write to me!"
Taelan Fordring replied, "I will! You take care of yourself too. In a year or two, I'll come to Dalaran for further studies as well."
Jaina said, "Father said Uncle Tirion Fordring invited him to vacation in Caer Darrow this summer. You'll be there, right?"
"I will!"
After all, that famous oil painting hadn't been painted yet!
The group arrived at the main gate of Dalaran, where a tall High Elf woman was waiting. This person was none other than Prince Kael'thas's special envoy, the Astromancer Solarian!
Taelan Fordring's deepest impression of her came from that Mage class legendary card in Hearthstone.
Everyone called her "Wife." 3 mana 3/2, Spell Damage +1, Deathrattle: Shuffle Prime Solarian into your deck. By that time, she had already lost her beautiful appearance and fallen into the Void.
After the two sides met, Solarian first conveyed greetings to Tirion Fordring on behalf of Prince Kael'thas. Then, she greeted Taelan Fordring. Afterward, she stood beside Taelan Fordring, remaining silent while waiting for the others to finish their goodbyes.
Jaina made another promise with Taelan to write to each other regularly. Meanwhile, Daelin chatted with Tirion about the recent situation regarding the Orc Internment Camps.
King Terenas had increased taxes to cover the expenses of the Orc Internment Camps. There was significant opposition to this from the various kingdoms. Just as Taelan Fordring had predicted, King Genn Greymane of Gilneas was the first to jump out in protest.
Terenas was a seasoned politician; he didn't build the Orc Internment Camps for the sake of the orcs, but to drag down other nations and achieve the unification of Lordaeron!
As a result, he successfully caused Alterac to be dismantled and Stromgarde to fall apart! And the Barov family became the biggest victims! After all, Perenolde deserved what he got!
Terenas was about to succeed, but he forgot that prosperity leads to decline. Everything has a price! Now, the costs of the Orc Internment Camps were getting higher and higher, and there was one orc clan that kept resisting, attacking Lordaeron from time to time. This left Terenas in a difficult position! It was fine to bury Trollbane in the hole he dug himself, and it didn't matter if he buried the Barovs. But now, he was the one who had to be buried—the Menethil!
Taelan left after all! Jaina was left alone. Standing at the gate of Dalaran, she looked at the pedestrians on the road and then glanced at the beautiful spires visible everywhere in Dalaran. Suddenly, she felt it wasn't so beautiful here anymore!
It turned out there was no scenery to begin with; only the right person could make it a beautiful view!
"Father! I want to go back to Kul Tiras! Let's leave immediately!"
The journey back was much smoother, as the sheriffs had been severely disciplined due to Tirion Fordring's "report." Everything from Lordaeron wolves and giant bears to Forest Trolls had suffered.
Karandra had truly felt like every day was a year! Her beloved son had left her, making it hard for her to even get a good night's sleep! She felt empty all day long and didn't know if Taelan's amnesia had been cured. When she saw her son and husband finally return, the heart that had been in her throat finally settled!
She hugged her son and asked after his well-being, completely ignoring old Fordring and the Grand Astromancer Solarian standing to the side. It wasn't until her son mentioned his tutor later that she greeted Solarian.
The group returned home and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner. After the family sat in the living room chatting, they retired early. By then, Karandra had already arranged Solarian's room; she was staying right next to Taelan to make it easier for her to teach him Thalassian.
Starting the next day, Taelan Fordring woke up early, exercised, and then began his day of study! Only then did he realize that the High Elves actually had their own language textbooks! He could just follow the curriculum step-by-step! At the same time, at his request, he began learning the Occultism he had dreamed of! And this so-called Occultism wasn't about mystical nonsense. It was actually a term for the understanding of energy and the laws of energy usage. Its core was similar to the Advanced Mathematics and Physics Taelan had studied back on the Blue Star! Of course, it couldn't do without the Advanced Mathematics that served as its foundation!
Sure enough, you can't escape the torture of mathematics anywhere, even if you change worlds!
According to Solarian, once he started touching those spell models, he would have to deal with solid geometry, and advanced magic would involve energy level calculations. Well! Taelan Fordring could only say that his advanced mathematics was quite good, and a Nephalem is a natural spellcaster! (I have a system, and I'm proud of it!)
"Ding! Shameless!"
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, a month had passed. Taelan Fordring had a brand-new understanding of Thalassian! (The system had completed its analysis of Thalassian.)
Ding! You have learned Thalassian!
You have mastered Intermediate Occultism!
You have mastered Advanced Mathematics! (I remember you saying your math was quite good.)
Occultism (Intermediate): You are now able to skillfully control your own energy and can barely perceive the changes in various energies around you! (Dragon Codex leveled up by 1.)
The Dragon Codex is simply an artifact! Thank you, my mentor! You will surely live for another thousand years!
Congratulations on reaching level 10! You have gained 2 skill points. Current skill points: 7.
You have reached level 10; you have upgraded to a Hero. Please check your brand-new character interface.
A powerful force surged from within Taelan Fordring's body. He felt the whole world was different! He began to sense the flow of energy around him. This was the power emanating from the world-soul of Azeroth. It entered Taelan's body, constantly changing him, making him stronger and stronger!
Several powerful energy clusters appeared in his perception; he knew these represented several powerhouses. The strongest was his own father.
Similar to him was the Grand Astromancer living next door. This legendary spellcaster was actually a very gentle person! She cared about those around her. She was just a bit sensitive and not good at expressing herself! She always cared for her friends in silence.
Over the past month, she and Taelan had slowly gone from strangers to acquaintances. She marveled at the talent of this human cub, yet regretted that he was so obsessed with the path of the Holy Light when he could easily have become a mage.
After truly getting to know her, Taelan Fordring knew she wasn't like the typical High Elf who loved a luxurious life; she was also a Leatherworking Master and a part-time Tailor! No wonder that after she fell into the Void, she would shout, "I will crush your vain delusions!" It was hard to tell if this was directed at the prince she was loyal to all her life, or if it was a struggle and vent against the unfair fate of the Blood Elves!
The remaining few were distributed throughout Mardenholde Castle; those must be the Paladins and Priests of the Order of the Silver Hand!
Taelan Fordring let out a long breath. Now he was finally a Hero. The Hero Template provided a massive boost to his character, so he quickly opened his character panel.
Earth-shattering changes had taken place here!
