Background / History

Tang San originated from the Tang Sect in another world, where he had already studied and cultivated the Mysterious Heaven Skill. He later arrived in Douluo Continent and took over Tang Hao's son's body; Tang Hao had witnessed his abnormal techniques and understood his son's body had been seized, but chose not to stop him. 267 318

As a child, Tang San displayed Innate Full Soul Power, Twin Martial Souls, unusual poison techniques, and hidden weapons that Yu Xiaogang regarded as impossible to explain through local traditions. His Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul was tied to Ah Yin's bloodline, while his second Martial Soul was the Clear Sky Hammer of the Clear Sky Sect. 6 7 316

His placement at third in the Genius Ranking exposed his strength, heritage, External Soul Bone, and use of three immortal herbs. The Clear Sky Sect consequently chose to acknowledge him and sought to bring him back for cultivation in its inherited arts. 7

After his later execution on Sea God Island, Tang San's remnant soul was recovered by the Asura God King. The god offered him a new identity, altered appearance, and a backup remnant soul for resurrection, intending to use him to investigate the forces from Beyond the Sky. 323 324

Tang San returned to Holy Soul Village as a child with Blue Silver Grass still forcibly retained as his Martial Soul. Tang San is intensely ambitious and initially regards his Twin Martial Souls, immortal herbs, and high ranking as proof that he should stand above his peers. Being surpassed in the Genius Ranking leaves him stunned and resentful, while later setbacks make him increasingly focused on recovering lost power. 6 35 57

He is calculating when threatened. During his public condemnation, he considers exploiting his status as someone from Beyond the Sky to frighten the crowd into sparing him; he later attempts to intimidate others by presenting himself as a Heavenly Demon. 316 319

His treatment of Xiao Wu becomes a central source of condemnation. Earlier accusations portray his actions around her sacrifice as a calculated “bitter-meat scheme,” and later Sky Screen revelations expose plans to use her for her Spirit Bone and growth. 20 21 285

Tang San is selected to compete against Stelle because both are associated with resurrection. Rebirth and Ah Yin's Judgment

After being beheaded on Sea God Island, Tang San returns through the Asura God King's arrangements. In his reborn child form, he encounters Ah Yin, attempts to consume her as a herb, and is instead captured.
