Background / History
Glamoth Iron Cavalry
Firefly recalls being born in a cultivation pod alongside countless other Glamoth Iron Cavalry soldiers, who existed to fight for Glamoth and its Empress. During the war against the insect swarm, she piloted Sam through battles so severe that its core nearly ran dry before another Iron Cavalry soldier cleared a path for her to continue toward the target. 166
As a subordinate to her captain, Firefly obeyed a decisive order to activate a device that called down an orbital-cannon strike, destroying the Mother Insect and the surrounding area. 168
She later awakened amid a battlefield of dead Glamoth soldiers and insect corpses. Learning that Glamoth had already fallen, Firefly broke down beside a dying comrade before a new life force awakened within her. In her reborn Sam form, she confronted another swarm and destroyed the entire planet to ensure its eradication. 169
Connection to Stelle
Firefly and Stelle, also called Little Grey Hair, were Stellaron Hunter companions who once acted according to a shared “script.” When Stelle later lost her memories, Firefly remained concerned for her and promised to remember their second meeting for her. 47 50 51
Firefly longs for an ordinary future in which they can meet not as accomplices, but as two people drifting through the galaxy and getting to know one another naturally. 50 51
Penacony and the Three Deaths
In Penacony, Firefly watches from above as Stelle reunites with others, relieved that she is safe. When Dahlia warns that Acheron is an Emanator of the Void, Firefly becomes alarmed and chooses to seek “Death” alone rather than expose Stelle to further danger. 22 23
Her first death comes when a bizarre monster impales her. She apologizes to Stelle before her body dissolves into glowing blue liquid. Dahlia later explains that Firefly chose this death to reveal the dream's truth to Stelle. 24
For her second death, Firefly uses Sam against the Dream Master Decree, Dark Sam, and an enormous insect swarm. After defeating Dark Sam, she merges with a Stellaron, breaks the dream barrier, carries Stelle to the highest point of the sky, and pushes her toward the golden light before Sam dissipates. 25 26
Firefly originally intended to face her third death alone so that Stelle would not witness her fading. Her Entropy Loss Syndrome causes irreversible physical disintegration and memory loss; while waiting to watch fireworks with Stelle, she asks not to die alone. 28 31 32
Stelle ultimately uses Nanook's power to change the past. Firefly awakens, though she initially continues to fall unconscious and cannot pilot Sam; she is later completely cured through Stelle's Sky Screen reward. 33 36
Appearance
Firefly is a silver-haired girl whose frail appearance contrasts sharply with the destructive power of her Sam armor. During her rebirth on the ruined battlefield, fluorescent-blue patterns emerge across her cheeks as green life energy surrounds her. 22 24 169
- Silver hair and a soft, youthful appearance. 22 24
- Often described as physically fragile because of Entropy Loss Syndrome. 24 31
- Her reborn state manifests fluorescent-blue facial patterns and a faint green glow. 169
- Sam's full-release form is silver-white, with luminous green wings and twin emerald longswords. 26
Personality
Firefly is deeply afraid of death, but refuses to flee from it. She accepts painful sacrifices when she believes they will protect others, whether confronting Death alone, fighting through the swarm, or spending her final strength to send Stelle beyond the dream barrier. 23 24 26
She is gentle and protective toward Stelle, repeatedly trying to hide her own suffering so Stelle will not be hurt by it. Even while her condition worsens, she wants their remaining time to become a “beautiful daydream” remembered with smiles. 31 32
Despite her battlefield past, Firefly values ordinary happiness. She dreams of opening a barbecue shop with Stelle and the other Stellaron Hunters once they no longer have to live as people walking toward an end. 58
- Refuses to set the sea on fire when doing so could harm sea life and nearby civilians. 142
- Becomes uneasy when photographed and struggles to face a camera. 278
- Is happiest when Stelle is happy, even entertaining the possibility that Stelle might someday be able to use Sam armor safely. 166
Abilities & Skills
Sam Armor
Firefly pilots the Sam mech, an Iron Cavalry armor capable of high-speed aerial combat, intense flame output, and overwhelming close-range destruction. Its full release manifests wings and dual swords. 26
- Incinerates swarming insects with surrounding flames. 26
- Enables flight, including carrying Stelle through the sky. 26
- Can scan enemies, though Firefly does not always use that function in games. 278
- Can only be safely controlled by Firefly; force-starting it is dangerous for others. 139
- Glamoth armor was originally intended for Iron Cavalry soldiers possessing the power of Propagation. 166
Dream-Burning Flame
Dahlia provides Firefly with a flame capable of burning memories and dream power. Firefly secretly plants it on the Dream Master Decree, causing him to dissipate before he can fully control the catastrophe he intended to unleash. 25
- Burns away memory- and dream-based power. 25
- Allows Firefly to disrupt the Dream Master Decree before the insect swarm is released. 25
Stellaron Integration
During her second death, Firefly forcibly integrates a Stellaron into her body and Sam's core. The resulting grey-purple form breaks the dream barrier and draws the swarm into the sky, but consumes all of her remaining energy. 26
- Changes Sam's energy from emerald green to grey-purple. 26
- Causes the insects to follow her upward before exploding. 26
- Ends with Sam losing power and dissolving into golden light. 26
Rebirth Flame
After confronting the truth of Glamoth's destruction, Firefly awakens a fluorescent-green flame associated with life and gains a stronger Sam form. 169
- Produces immense green wings of light. 169

- Splits and destroys a planet to eliminate the swarm. 169
