"Son Goku is your name on Earth, but Kakarot is your true name," Wang Yang said with a faint smile.
"Earth? True name?" Son Goku scratched his head, looking puzzled.
"Are you saying... Goku isn't from Earth?" Bulma's eyes widened, and she asked in shock.
"That's right. We aren't from Earth; we are Saiyans from Planet Vegeta!" Wang Yang replied.
"But if you're aliens, how did you get to Earth?" Bulma asked curiously.
"Kakarot arrived in a space pod. As for me... I just came here," Wang Yang said nonchalantly.
Goku scratched his head, completely bewildered.
"Kakarot, did you know we were born on the same day? There were three Saiyans born that day, and back then, you were the one I wanted to fight the most," Wang Yang said, looking at Goku with a grin.
"Why?" Son Goku asked, confused. It felt like they had just met for the first time, and he didn't have any deep grudge against him.
"Because the three of us were born at the same time, in the same room. The other guy had such overwhelming power at birth that you were scared into crying and screaming, which kept me from sleeping well. That's why I really wanted to beat you up back then," Wang Yang said with a smile.
"Really? Then I really want to have a fight with you!" Goku clenched his fists, his face full of excitement.
"You'd better work hard. At most, I'll just give you a beating, but if that other guy finds you, he'll kill you," Wang Yang warned.
"That's so exciting!" Goku's blood boiled; he wasn't afraid at all, feeling only the thrill of a worthy opponent.
"..." Watching the inexplicably excited Goku, Wang Yang wanted to tell him what his expression would be if he knew Broly's combat power. But thinking of Goku's martial-arts-obsessed personality, he figured he wouldn't be afraid, but rather filled with passion.
"Goku, go sign up quickly. Time is almost up," Master Roshi shouted at Goku.
"Got it!" Son Goku replied and went to register.
"Hey, are you really an alien?" Bulma leaned in close to Wang Yang, poked his waist with her index finger, and whispered.
"I am! I'm a Saiyan who lived on Planet Vegeta, but now that Planet Vegeta has been destroyed, I'm homeless and have to seek your protection," Wang Yang said with a cryptic smile.
"No problem! I, Bulma, love helping others," Bulma patted her chest, causing a ripple, and said generously.
"So aliens don't look much different from us, except for the tail," Bulma said with a giggle.
"You're mistaken there. People in the universe are strange and varied—there are robots, metal men, and vegetable men. In all these years, I've only seen people from two planets who look like us, and one of them is your Earth."
"I see!" Bulma's eyes sparkled, fascinated by things beyond the universe.
"Then can you also transform into a Giant Ape during a full moon?" Master Roshi, recalling the time Son Goku had transformed into a Giant Ape, couldn't help but ask.
"I can. Our Saiyan race can transform into a Giant Ape during a full moon. I am a top-tier warrior, so I retain my sanity when I transform. Only low-class warriors lose their minds when they transform, like that guy Son Goku."
So I was the one who killed Grandpa... The smile on Son Goku's face vanished.
"I see! Since you're a top-tier warrior, Son Goku has a real opponent this time."
"..."
The group still didn't understand the gap between a top-tier warrior and a low-class warrior.
Just as the registration time was about to end, Krillin and the others finally appeared.
Once registration closed, the group headed to a hotel for a meal. On the way, after hearing Puar's story, Yamcha was furious. Thinking that his spot had been stolen while he was away for three years, he couldn't help but step up to Wang Yang.
"You damn guy, I'm going to beat you to a pulp and show you what I'm made of!" Yamcha glared at Wang Yang viciously.
His training over the past three years had increased his power significantly, making him feel confident that he wouldn't be inferior even if King Piccolo were reborn.
Although this guy was of the same race as Son Goku, he didn't believe this unremarkable person could be that strong.
Krillin, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Yamcha, looking at Wang Yang with serious expressions. The four of them had spent every day together for the past few years and shared a deep bond.
"If you're not convinced, all four of you can come at me. Using one hand would be more than enough," Wang Yang said, crossing his arms and looking down at them. He was usually calm, but that didn't mean he had no temper.
He was stating a fact; with his current combat power, he could wipe out these people—who were only around 200—with a single burst of energy.
The atmosphere froze for a moment.
"Everyone, don't be angry! Let's talk this out!" Goku laughed and stood in the middle, waving his hands. Being as simple-minded as he was, he really didn't understand what there was to be angry about.
What was a girlfriend? Was she edible?
"Yeah, yeah, the tournament is tomorrow. It won't be too late to fight on the ring then," Master Roshi also stepped in as a peacemaker. Ever since he learned Wang Yang was Goku's clansman and wanted to fight him, Master Roshi had been very wary, fearing his disciple would suffer.
Under the mediation of the group, Yamcha could only suppress his anger.
He glared at Wang Yang from time to time.
When it came time to eat, the group watched Wang Yang and Goku devouring their food and could only sigh that they were indeed aliens.
The next day, the Martial Arts Tournament officially began!
Through Chiaotzu's behind-the-scenes manipulation, Wang Yang was assigned to a different ring, separated from Goku and the others.
Although their combat power was too low, Wang Yang remained very humble. Upholding the belief that "among any three people, there must be a teacher," he watched every match carefully.
Time passed slowly, and the winners of the previous rings had already emerged.
Goku, Tien Shinhan, Mercenary Tao, the Nameless One, Demon Junior, Krillin, and Yamcha.
Now, only Wang Yang's ring remained. The group gathered around to watch the final match of the preliminaries: Wang Yang versus the lecherous, bespectacled middle-aged man—Shen!
"It seems there's no suspense left in this fight," Krillin said, looking at the sleazy Shen with a laugh.
"Hmph! He just got lucky running into an opponent like that. Even if he makes it into the top eight, I'll be the one to knock him out," Yamcha also felt that Wang Yang had simply been lucky.
Fighting that sleazy Shen—couldn't anyone do it with their eyes closed?
On the arena stage, the two stood in a standoff. Wang Yang gave a slight wave of his right hand, signaling for his opponent to make the first move.
"Then I won't stand on ceremony." Shen wore a pair of glasses, and as a white glint flashed across the lenses, he immediately charged toward Wang Yang, flailing his arms and legs.
"To think someone like this could make it to the final round of the preliminaries!" Seeing the countless openings in Shen's entire posture, Krillin couldn't help but cover his face and sigh.
