Although the two little ones were still very young, their ability to learn was quite fast, and they quickly mimicked the movements with decent form.
One hour later! The two began to attempt it.
"Begin!"
Following Wang Yang's command, Wang Sheng and Gohan stood apart.
"Fu...sion!"
As their two small index fingers touched, a brilliant light flashed, and their figures seemed to merge together like shadows.
"The light is so intense, it must be a success." Krillin opened his mouth wide, exclaiming in wonder.
"Did they succeed?" Son Goku looked on with curious, excited eyes.
They failed! Wang Yang covered his forehead; he had just seen the two little ones' fingers misalign.
The light dissipated, and just as Wang Yang expected, a chubby boy appearing to be about ten years old stood there, wearing only a vest that exposed his soft, bouncy, pale fat.
The boy shifted his posture slightly, then took a few small steps with thighs thicker than Wang Yang's, and under the speechless gazes of the crowd, he squatted on the ground, panting heavily.
Huff! Huff! Huff!
"Wang Yang, are you sure he can defeat that Saiyan like this?" Krillin asked, his face full of embarrassment as he nudged Wang Yang's arm with his elbow.
"Hahaha! Hahaha! You're killing me! Are you sure this little fatty can defeat me?" Vegeta clutched his stomach and burst into laughter upon seeing this scene.
"Failure!" Ignoring Vegeta's mockery, Wang Yang stepped forward and slapped the little fatty on the head. Silver-white light flowed through his palm, and as he struck the round head, the little fatty emitted a white glow, immediately followed by the figures of Wang Sheng and Gohan appearing on the ground.
With exquisite control, he had forcibly separated the two fused energies within the little fatty's body.
"During the final step just now, your fingers were misaligned." Wang Yang gestured to show the mistake.
"Mm-hmm!"
The two little ones nodded earnestly.
"Again!"
Wang Yang shouted.
"Fu...sion!"
The light soared into the sky once more, followed by a weak, breathless cough.
"Cough!"
"Failed again!" Son Goku was dumbfounded as he looked at the skin-and-bones child before him.
It was obvious at a glance that this was a failure, and he couldn't help but doubt whether this technique was as powerful as Wang Yang claimed.
"Cough! Cough!"
Wang Yang watched the boy coughing desperately, fearing that he might suddenly stop breathing and kick the bucket.
Son Goku stepped forward and slapped the emaciated head.
Smack!
"Ah!"
The already frail fused being was struck by Son Goku and collapsed to the ground, twitching all over.
"Cough... cough!"
Long intervals passed between the two coughs, as if he really might not catch his next breath.
"Haha! Why didn't you split apart?" Son Goku covered his head in embarrassment upon seeing this. He had just watched Wang Yang slap the fused being apart and assumed that was all it took, so he hadn't held back his strength, never imagining things wouldn't go as he wished.
Wang Yang gave Son Goku a look of annoyance, wrapped the fused being lying on the ground in his energy to suspend him in front of him, and then slapped him on the head, splitting him apart once again.
"Wang Yang, how did you do that?" Son Goku's curiosity was piqued; he felt this guy was incredibly mysterious, seemingly knowing every secret technique and skill.
"It's simple. It's a specific application of ki. The fused being combines the power of two people, but this fusion has a slight rift. As long as you can perfectly control your ki, you can use this rift to forcibly split the power inside the fused being, causing their fusion state to vanish," Wang Yang explained.
"So that's how it is!" Son Goku suddenly realized.
"Goku, your power has increased significantly over these past few years," Wang Yang said, looking at Son Goku.
"It's alright, I guess!" Son Goku rubbed his head, speaking modestly.
"However, your control over your ki has decreased. You should take some time to calm your mind and practice your control!" Wang Yang shifted the topic, pointing out Son Goku's flaw.
"You're right!" Son Goku nodded in agreement.
"Continue!"
Wang Yang said to the two little ones once more.
"Okay!"
"We definitely can't fail this time!"
Failing twice had stirred up the competitive spirit of the two little ones.
"Fu...sion!"
The corners of Wang Yang's mouth suddenly curled upward.
A dazzling light soared into the sky, and a powerful aura swept across the land like a tidal wave. Rolling shockwaves billowed in every direction as a lithe figure slowly emerged from the smoke.
A confident smile graced his handsome face. He wore a vest that left his well-defined abdomen exposed, his muscles taut and seemingly brimming with explosive power.
"Haha, it worked!"
Krillin laughed heartily.
He sensed that the child's aura was like a scorching sun hanging high in the heavens, an endless, inexhaustible source of power that left everyone stunned.
A faint smile touched the corner of Piccolo's mouth.
"What? This power?" Even without a scouter, Vegeta could feel this unfamiliar and incomparably immense power, and he was instantly struck with terror.
This power was simply too overwhelming. Under the pressure of such a formidable aura, he felt like a tiny sailboat caught in a storm, utterly small and powerless.
Vegeta felt regret; he regretted being so arrogant.
"You are neither Gohan nor Wang Sheng now. What is your name?" Wang Yang looked at the young boy before him and smiled.
"I shall be called Wu Sheng!"
Wu Sheng clenched his fists, carefully sensing the vast power surging within his body.
"This power is truly immense. Defeating this Vegeta will be more than enough."
After speaking, Wu Sheng began to limber up on the spot. As he threw punches and kicks, he whipped up a powerful gale that caused countless stones to hover in the air.
Suddenly, Wu Sheng clenched his hands into fists, dropped into a low stance, and let out a loud shout.
"Ah!"
Accompanied by a world-shaking roar, rolling shockwaves erupted in all directions, and the stones suspended in the air were instantly pulverized into dust by the force of the blast.
Son Goku felt the aura radiating from Wu Sheng and sighed in amazement; he had not expected the power of Fusion to be this formidable.
"Wang Yang, if the enemy proves too much for us later, let's try Fusion ourselves!" Son Goku was eager to know just how powerful he and Wang Yang would be if they fused.
If the two of us fused, I wonder who in the universe could possibly be our match?
"We'll see," Wang Yang said indifferently. In truth, he felt some resistance toward the idea of Fusion, especially with the unreliable Son Goku.
"Oh no, our enemy is about to appear." The smile faded from Wang Yang's face as he looked up at the distant sky with a solemn expression.
