On the arena, Vegeta in his Hakai Form looked at AF Son Goku, who had reached Perfect Super Saiyan 4.
The arena began to tremble, and a powerful pressure spread between them.
Vegeta declared, "Kakarot, I will defeat you!"
With that, Vegeta bent forward and charged at AF Son Goku, turning into a purple streak of lightning in an instant. He was incredibly fast, appearing behind AF Son Goku almost immediately.
Just then, Son Goku calmly extended his right hand. Vegeta's fist landed squarely in his palm, and AF Son Goku didn't even look at him.
Suddenly, Vegeta unleashed a blisteringly fast barrage of attacks, raining blows down on AF Son Goku. AF Son Goku held both hands in front of his chest and retreated steadily.
Then, Vegeta struck AF Son Goku directly with Hakai Energy. A terrifying blast of explosive force spread outward.
When the smoke cleared, Son Goku was still in a defensive stance, completely unmoved. Vegeta could tell that his attack hadn't inflicted any meaningful damage on AF Son Goku.
Vegeta snorted and further expanded his Hakai Energy aura. His purple pupils revealed his wild, domineering nature.
AF Son Goku walked toward Vegeta step by step, facing his overwhelming aura head-on. With a whoosh, AF Son Goku appeared behind Vegeta.
He was so fast he seemed like an afterimage. He struck at Vegeta's neck with a karate chop.
Vegeta was stunned. He hadn't expected that speed, and his reaction was a fraction too slow.
He could only turn and block with both hands. Bang! Vegeta was sent flying like an arrow loosed from a bow, crashing into the arena and leaving a huge crater.
Vegeta got to his feet, his arms numb. That was one hell of a hit!
In the next instant, AF Son Goku appeared behind Vegeta like a ghost. Vegeta clearly still hadn't reacted. "What?"
Beerus, watching from the stands, saw how fast AF Son Goku was and widened his eyes. Ever since fighting Ye Ming, he hadn't felt power like this in a long time.
AF Son Goku punched Vegeta into the air. Vegeta spat out a mouthful of blood, his expression grim as he glanced down and saw that Son Goku had disappeared again.
The next moment, AF Son Goku's fist appeared in front of Vegeta. Vegeta could only raise both hands to block, but he was slammed hard into the arena once more.
Vegeta immediately got back up. His Hakai Form made him incredibly tough! A wound had appeared on his face, too.
He wiped the corner of his mouth and muttered, "Damn it, Kakarot's too fast. I can't figure out the path of his attacks at all."
AF Son Goku folded his arms and looked down at Vegeta. Veins suddenly bulged on Vegeta's forehead. "You bastard!"
With that, he suddenly powered up and attacked AF Son Goku in the sky. Hakai Energy gathered in Vegeta's left hand as he punched at AF Son Goku with his right. He was so fast that it all happened in the blink of an eye.
Just as Vegeta's attack was about to hit, AF Son Goku grabbed Vegeta's left hand, which was gathering Hakai Energy, and his right hand, which was punching toward him.
Vegeta was now completely enraged. The Hakai Energy in his left hand kept growing stronger as he struggled against AF Son Goku with his right.
Vegeta glared viciously at AF Son Goku, but AF Son Goku only smiled faintly.
The next moment, AF Son Goku began to struggle against Vegeta's Hakai Energy, trying to force it back toward him. It was a contest of strength.
Vegeta's expression turned grave as he realized what AF Son Goku was trying to do. Even so, he grinned. He chose to meet AF Son Goku's strength head-on.
AF Son Goku and Vegeta roared as their power continued to rise. Hakai Energy swirled wildly around Vegeta, and his purple aura surged toward the sky.
Son Goku also released his energy. Golden light flashed, revealing his incredible muscles. The aura of pure mortal strength shocked everyone in the stands. It felt as though this power could shatter anything in its path.
The Hakai Energy between their left hands continued to merge and grow amid the two forces, then compress.
Vegeta was already giving it everything he had, while AF Son Goku smiled mysteriously at him.
Vegeta was astonished. AF Son Goku had suddenly increased his aura, and Vegeta could feel the Hakai Energy in his left hand slowly being pushed toward him. He was losing the contest of strength to AF Son Goku.
Vegeta could no longer hold back. Veins bulged on his forehead as he shouted, "Damn it!"
AF Son Goku let out a furious roar, and the Hakai Energy was forced entirely toward Vegeta. AF Son Goku had gained an overwhelming advantage in strength. He quickly drove Vegeta down toward the arena, while Son Goku held Vegeta's right hand firmly in place.
Vegeta put everything he had into a roar. "Aah, Kakarot!"
Suddenly, the Hakai Energy shifted from Vegeta's left hand toward Son Goku. Vegeta refused to accept defeat.
AF Son Goku roared and released another burst of energy, slamming Vegeta's left hand—the one gathering Hakai Energy—into the arena in an instant. Crash!
And under the force of his powerful body, the Hakai Energy was crushed.
Everyone in the stands was stunned. Beerus rose to his feet, his expression grave and his pupils contracting. Son Goku also held his breath as he watched the center of the arena, his eyes filled with shock.
Ye Ming stood with his arms folded, staring intently at the arena. His expression was unreadable.
Vegeta has completely lost to AF Son Goku in a head-on clash, Ye Ming thought. I was watching AF Son Goku closely, too, and he's even stronger than I expected.
In Universe 6, Champa watched the scene happily and stuck out his tongue at Beerus. "Ha ha ha! Beerus, it won't be long before your universe's Vegeta is defeated by our universe's Son Goku!"
Beerus gritted his teeth at those words! He knew how strong the other Son Goku was, too.
Ye Ming calmly said, "Lord Beerus, this battle may be a challenge for Vegeta, but it's also an opportunity. After all, Saiyans have limitless potential."
"It doesn't matter if he loses the match. What matters is that he learns something from this battle and grows stronger. If he can do that, then he'll become stronger still."
Whis looked at Ye Ming approvingly. "Ye Ming is right. This battle is a challenge for Vegeta, but he may also gain a great deal from it."
"There's a gap in their strength. At this point, the other Son Goku clearly hasn't shown his full power. So now, they shouldn't be thinking about who wins or loses the match."
After hearing them, Beerus clenched his fists, then relaxed them. He understood Vegeta, after all. Vegeta was practically his own student.
The scene shifted back to the arena. Vegeta glared at Son Goku, grinding his teeth. The purple light in his eyes grew even more terrifying, and Hakai energy surged from his body.
Suddenly, AF Son Goku kicked Vegeta away. Then AF Son Goku appeared behind him and locked an arm around his neck.
A glow of energy shone all over AF Son Goku's body, and a powerful wave of energy spread outward from him.
AF Son Goku was holding Vegeta in place before attacking him, trying to rob him of his ability to fight.
Vegeta screamed again and again as a terrifying wave of energy washed over him.
About a minute later, Vegeta collapsed to the ground, his eyes blank. His Hakai Form had completely faded.
Beerus of Universe 7 could no longer sit still. He rushed to the edge of the stands and nearly jumped into the arena himself.
Ye Ming appeared beside Beerus in a flash and said, "Lord Beerus, please stay calm. If you step in, we'll lose this match."
"I believe Vegeta won't be defeated so easily. He has the pride of a Saiyan Prince in his heart. Maybe a miracle will happen."
Indeed, Vegeta was now recalling the moments of his past. Suddenly, he remembered what had happened while training with Beerus.
Vegeta still had his eyes closed as AF Son Goku watched him calmly.
The scene in Vegeta's mind returned to a training session with Beerus. He had taken a terrible beating, but by then he had begun to grasp the True Meaning of Destruction.
Beerus had been very pleased with him, saying that he had what it took to become a God of Destruction. Beerus told him that destruction techniques could be a person, but they could also be a form of energy.
"The stronger your desire to destroy, the stronger the destructive power you can gather. How powerful can that force become? You have to keep asking yourself that. When you cast everything aside, as though nothing else exists, your Hakai Energy will reach its peak."
Beerus's past teachings surfaced in Vegeta's mind. He suddenly opened his eyes, his pupils turning purple once more. His gaze was utterly resolute.
Terrifying Hakai Energy burst from Vegeta, several times stronger than before. Beerus knew exactly what had happened to him. It seemed Vegeta had indeed cast everything aside for the sake of his pride!
Purple energy kept wrapping around Vegeta as a powerful aura of Hakai Energy erupted from him. From a distance, he looked like a demon god.
AF Son Goku sensed trouble the moment Vegeta awoke and immediately put distance between them.
He watched Vegeta's terrifying aura continue to rise, and even AF Son Goku grew serious.
He saw Vegeta smile. "Vegeta, just as I'd expect from you. From the past until now, you've always been my rival—and my friend."
"Is that so? Kakarot, I'm honored!" Surrounded by Hakai Energy, Vegeta held a gigantic sphere of it in his left hand and slowly walked toward AF Son Goku as he spoke.
AF Son Goku watched Vegeta's aura continue to swell and became serious as well.
"Kakarot, I have to thank you for helping me understand the Heart of Destruction. My Power of Destruction has increased dramatically."
"Kakarot, I'll tell you this: whether you're a Kakarot from another timeline or a Kakarot from this universe, I will defeat you!" Vegeta declared arrogantly.
The spectators from Universe 6 and Universe 7 watched as Vegeta stood up again, stronger than before.
Ye Ming smiled faintly, while Beerus wore a relieved expression.
Son Goku sighed. "Vegeta's gone and broken through his limits again."
Champa's expression turned sour. Just moments ago, their universe's Son Goku had easily defeated Vegeta, but now Vegeta had gotten back up—and he was even stronger than before.
Champa looked at Vegeta, whose Hakai aura surged below, then glanced at AF Son Goku. A smile tugged at his lips.
For some reason, Champa had suddenly grown confident. He said to Vados, "Let's let this match go on a little longer, shall we? Don't you agree, Vados?"
"Oh my, Lord Champa has finally come around for once. Goku probably wants to have a little more fun. Even though Vegeta has made further progress in the Power of Destruction, that's all it is. He poses no threat to Goku at all," Vados said with a smile.
Champa clearly enjoyed Vados's words and started getting full of himself.
Beerus of Universe 7 was extremely annoyed by Champa's smug attitude.
Although Beerus had seen Vegeta break through his limits once more, he knew there was still a gap between them.
Beerus was an arrogant god, and although he usually acted as though he didn't care about anything, when it really mattered, he cared a great deal.
