After the Grand Priest left, all the gods let out a long sigh of relief. Whis and Vados, however, hadn't been under nearly as much pressure. After all, they were Angels and had to remain neutral!
Beerus glared fiercely at Son Goku. "You idiot! Do you have any idea what happens when you anger Lord Zeno? You nearly scared us to death!"
Champa chimed in, looking displeased. "Beerus, that Son Goku of yours really has no manners! You'd better discipline him when you get back."
Son Goku scratched his head and said earnestly, "I don't think Lord Zeno is a bad person! He seems pretty cute to me."
Beerus promptly bonked Son Goku on the head. "Don't you dare disrespect Lord Zeno! Keep this up and I'll destroy you myself!"
Ye Ming walked over to smooth things over. "Lord Beerus, Lord Zeno agreed to Son Goku's proposal for the Universal Martial Arts Tournament, so there's no need to stay angry. Still, you can discipline Son Goku for his reckless behavior once you're back."
Beerus's expression softened a little when he heard Ye Ming speak.
AF Son Goku also walked up to Champa. "I'm sorry, Lord Champa. I lost!"
Champa didn't get angry. Instead, he went over to AF Son Goku and patted him on the shoulder. "It's all right, Goku. You lost to that monster, Ye Ming. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Next time, just beat him up good."
AF Son Goku's Universe 6 teammates heard this and instantly developed a dark line over their heads. Sure enough, being strong really did get you treated differently!
Ye Ming heard Champa call him a monster, too. He wasn't sure whether he should laugh or cry.
AF Son Goku said gratefully, "I'll train hard and do my best to beat him next time."
Champa nodded happily. "That's right! I have complete faith in you, Son Goku."
Beerus glanced sideways at AF Son Goku and Champa, who were grinning at each other. His mouth twisted with disdain as he thought, Hmph. You want to beat Ye Ming? The gap between you will only keep growing.
Whis watched Beerus's expression and chuckled behind his hand. "Lord Beerus, we should go get the Super Dragon Balls. The match is over, so let's hurry back and enjoy some delicious food."
At the mention of food, Beerus perked up immediately. He turned to Champa. "Hey, Champa. Since you lost, we'll take the Super Dragon Balls. I'm in a hurry."
Champa shot Beerus a glance and waved dismissively. "Take them, take them! I'm sick of looking at you."
Then he added stubbornly, "Beerus, this match doesn't count! Lord Zeno just said we'd hold the Universal Martial Arts Tournament again. We'll settle things once and for all then!"
"Let's go, Vados! Once we're back, I'll put these fighters through their paces."
Vados followed Champa. "Understood, Lord Champa!"
With that, Champa lifted his chin and walked away, refusing to give Beerus a chance to retort.
Beerus snorted. "Let's go make our wish!"
AF Son Goku knew the Super Dragon Balls were countless times more powerful than the Dragon Balls from their universe, and that they could grant any wish. At that moment, a thought crossed his mind.
Just then, Son Gohan said, "It looks like we're still missing one Super Dragon Ball."
Beerus's catlike eyes widened. "What? Damn Champa! Is he trying to cheat us?"
Ye Ming smiled. "Actually, the Super Dragon Ball is right beneath our feet."
Everyone looked down, then realized what he meant. "I see!"
Whis waved his staff. "Then let's leave this planet first."
In a flash, Ye Ming and the others appeared inside the Universe Cube. They looked at the seven enormous spheres in the distance. Whis waved his staff, and the surface of the Nameless Planet immediately split open, revealing a brilliant golden light.
Champa and the others watched from inside their own Cube. Champa said flatly, "Tch. This is so frustrating. We worked so hard to collect the Super Dragon Balls, only to hand them over just like that."
Vados smiled. "Wasn't that Lord Champa's own decision? You have to bear the consequences of your actions."
Champa was even more annoyed by that. He glared at Vados. "I know! You don't have to tell me, Vados."
AF Son Goku turned to Champa. "Can these seven Dragon Balls really grant any wish?"
Everyone looked at AF Son Goku. Vados answered, "Of course they can, Mr. Goku. But our universe lost to Universe 7, so we have no choice but to hand the Super Dragon Balls over."
AF Son Goku clenched his fist, as if he'd made up his mind.
AF Son Goku bowed to Champa. "Excuse me for a moment, Lord Champa!"
Champa panicked when he saw AF Son Goku starting to leave. "Hey, hey! Goku!"
But Vados stopped him. "It seems Mr. Goku wants to borrow the Super Dragon Balls to find the mastermind behind the destruction of his timeline. I don't think there's much chance of that working, though."
"Please don't worry, Lord Champa. Goku will come back. He isn't the sort of person to break his word."
Inside the Universe 7 Cube, they saw AF Son Goku flying toward them.
Ye Ming smiled when he saw him and thought, AF Son Goku must want to use the Super Dragon Balls to find the mastermind behind the destruction of his timeline.
AF Son Goku greeted them warmly, then bowed to Lord Beerus. "Lord Beerus, would you let me use this chance to make a wish on the Super Dragon Balls? I'd be truly grateful."
Beerus's ears perked up at those words. He folded his arms and tapped one with his fingers.
"What's this about? Can you give me a reason? Our universe won the match after going through so much trouble. We can't just hand the prize over to someone else, can we?" Beerus said calmly.
Just then, Ye Ming leaned close and whispered to Beerus, "Lord Beerus, Son Goku must want to use the Super Dragon Balls to find out who destroyed his timeline."
"We can do him a favor. Besides, we might not have anything to wish for. Earth's food is more enjoyable anyway."
Ye Ming then nodded to AF Son Goku, who gave him a grateful look.
Beerus reluctantly said, "All right, go ahead and use them. But making a wish on the Super Dragon Balls requires the divine language. Just tell Whis what you want, and he'll take care of it. Remember, you owe me a favor for this!"
AF Son Goku was overjoyed. "Thank you, Lord Beerus. I won't forget what you've done for me."
Beerus waved impatiently. He hated hearing all that talk about favors and gratitude.
AF Son Goku crossed the Universe Cube and went over to Whis. "Whis, I want to find out who destroyed my timeline."
Whis nodded calmly. He knew this had always been a burden on AF Son Goku's heart.
After Whis recited a string of divine words, the power of Super Shenron appeared before them.
For the first time, Ye Ming and the others felt just how powerful Super Shenron was. Its body was incomparably vast, and the divine power it contained was like an abyss.
So this is Super Shenron? As expected, you can only sense this immense divine power when you're standing right in front of it. I'm so insignificant! No wonder Dragon God Zalama created it.
Super Shenron's terrifying roar echoed through the cosmos. The holy power it unleashed filled all the gods with awe!
Whis turned to AF Son Goku. "Are you sure you want to make the wish you just described?"
AF Son Goku nodded. "I'm sure."
Whis then spoke to Super Shenron in the divine language.
The next instant, a red light flashed in Super Shenron's eyes. Its body trembled slightly, as though it were struggling against some kind of force.
Then something shocking happened: Super Shenron's eyes fixed on everyone in the Universe 7 Cube.
Whis noticed the strange occurrence and furrowed his brow.
Vados and Champa, inside the Universe 6 Cube, also noticed that Super Shenron seemed to be struggling against some force before suddenly stopping.
Super Shenron then spoke to those in the Universe 7 Cube, but in the divine language.
Whis was visibly shocked by the words Super Shenron spoke!
He turned to AF Son Goku, his brow furrowed. "Just now, when Super Shenron was about to find the truth, a powerful force blocked him. He was at a disadvantage against it, although he was still able to resist. But then an even more powerful divine force appeared and completely erased his will."
AF Son Goku could hardly believe his ears. He had just felt the overwhelming power of Super Shenron, and yet something had been able to erase its will completely. The revelation left him utterly stunned!
Beerus and the others were equally shocked, while Champa was completely dumbfounded.
Super Shenron spoke another long string of divine words, and Whis listened carefully.
After Super Shenron finished, Whis said to AF Son Goku, "That force just now was completely beyond the laws of the universe. It's a power that only an immensely powerful Supreme God could wield. Super Shenron advises you not to investigate again, or you could lose your life. He has already shielded you from all killing intent, but in doing so, he used up all the power you had for wishes."
AF Son Goku immediately asked, "A Supreme God? How does his power compare to Lord Zeno's?"
Beerus, inside the Cube, was furious to hear AF Son Goku say Lord Zeno's name and was about to reprimand him.
Whis immediately relayed AF Son Goku's question to Super Shenron, but its power was nearly exhausted.
Just before disappearing, Super Shenron answered their question.
Whis's pupils contracted when he heard the answer. Everyone noticed his expression, and Vados hurried over to him.
Whis said gravely to AF Son Goku, "Super Shenron said that the person you're looking for is incredibly powerful—a Supreme God. His power is even greater than the power of the laws controlled by Lord Zeno."
Beerus and Champa couldn't believe their ears. Beerus cried out, "That's impossible! No one can be stronger than Lord Zeno!"
Whis said calmly, "What if that person comes from a higher-dimensional world?"
Beerus fell silent. He knew that higher-dimensional realms existed.
Beerus turned to Whis, his expression grave. "Why would those supreme beings destroy a small parallel timeline? And people from higher-dimensional realms aren't allowed to destroy lower-dimensional realms at will. They'd be punished if they did."
"I don't know, Lord Beerus. This is far beyond what we can control. Since the Grand Priest didn't give us an answer, we shouldn't make wild guesses."
Whis turned to AF Son Goku. "Just as the Grand Priest said earlier, you'll need to keep growing stronger if you want to find the answer you're looking for."
Whis's answer left AF Son Goku in despair. My enemy is so powerful. No matter how much I train, I'll never be able to defeat him—let alone kill him!
Ye Ming flashed over to AF Son Goku and patted him on the shoulder. "What, are you giving up already? Don't forget our promise. I wasn't just saying that."
"We've seen how powerful our enemy is, but we still need perseverance and courage. We'll keep training and grow strong enough to find him one day—and destroy him!"
Whis and Vados nodded to AF Son Goku as well.
AF Son Goku said firmly, "I understand. Thank you, all of you. I'll definitely become even stronger."
