Just like that, Ye Ming and the others said goodbye to AF Son Goku and his companions and returned to their own universe.
Before leaving, AF Son Goku once again thanked Beerus for the Super Dragon Balls.
Beerus said to AF Son Goku, "No matter what, you shouldn't have compared Lord Zeno to your archenemy just now. If you do that again, I'll destroy you myself. Do you understand?"
AF Son Goku scratched his head and gave an awkward smile. "I got a little too worked up just now. Sorry, Lord Beerus. I promise I won't do it again."
Beerus felt a little better after hearing that.
Lord Beerus really seems to be terrified of Zeno. It's practically ingrained in his bones! Ye Ming thought.
Back in the Universe Cube, Ye Ming and the others had returned to Universe 7. A brilliant light appeared in the God of Destruction Realm.
Son Goku stepped out and stretched. "We're finally back! I'm exhausted. But fighting so many powerful opponents this time was really exciting! I even met another version of myself from a different timeline, and he was so much stronger than me. It was incredible!"
Beerus looked at Son Goku, that hopeless idiot, and felt like slapping him to death. He glared at Son Goku and said fiercely, "If you dare disrespect Lord Zeno again, I'll destroy you. Do you understand? I won't repeat myself, Son Goku!"
Beerus's roar made Son Goku flinch. He apologized half-heartedly. "Got it, Lord Beerus. You sure are a nag!"
Beerus nodded at the first part of what Son Goku said, but the second part instantly set him ablaze with anger.
"You dare call me a nag? You've got some nerve!" Beerus charged at Son Goku as he spoke.
The others could only look on helplessly. It seemed Son Goku was about to get a thorough beating!
Son Goku was left black and blue from Beerus's beating. Beerus was still glaring furiously at him, making for a rather comical sight.
That evening, everyone enjoyed a feast in the God of Destruction's hall. Ye Ming suddenly asked, "What are you planning to do next?" Clearly, he was asking Son Goku and the others.
Son Goku thought for a moment before answering, "How about going home to see our families, then coming back to train?"
Vegeta said haughtily, "I don't need to go back. I made everything clear to Bulma before we left. Hmph!"
Son Gohan seemed to miss his mother a little. "Dad, how about we go back for a while?"
Son Goku nodded at Son Gohan. "Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Let's go together after dinner!"
They turned to Ye Ming. "What about you, Ye Ming?"
Ye Ming grabbed a chicken drumstick and started eating. After thinking it over, he said, "I'll stay in the God of Destruction Realm. I don't have any family on Earth, after all. Say hello to your wives for me!"
They nodded at Ye Ming's words. It was more or less what they had expected.
Beerus said to Son Goku, "Son Gohan, when you get back, tell your mother to straighten Son Goku out. He's got too many bad habits."
Son Goku immediately ducked his head at that, while Son Gohan gave an awkward smile. "All right, Lord Beerus. I'll tell her when we get back."
After dinner, Son Goku and Son Gohan waved goodbye to Ye Ming and the others. Son Goku took Son Gohan with him and used Instant Transmission to leave.
Whis said to Ye Ming, "Are you going to train in Destruction Space again? Since you've gained an initial grasp of the Law of Time and Space, you really should keep up the momentum."
Ye Ming smiled at Whis. "That's right, Whis. I gained a lot from this battle, too. The Son Goku from another timeline was quite powerful."
Whis covered his mouth as he chuckled. "Ye Ming, you really are a training fanatic. But you're right."
With his hands behind his back, Whis continued, "The peace of this universe may not last much longer. You need to grow even stronger as quickly as possible, Ye Ming!"
Ye Ming understood what Whis meant. He nodded and said, "I understand, Whis. No matter what crisis the future brings, I'll live and die alongside Universe 7 and this timeline!"
Whis turned to look at Ye Ming's resolute expression, and a smile appeared on his face. "Ye Ming, perhaps your arrival in our timeline was a stroke of luck for us. You've set this timeline on an unknown course, but I think it's a good one."
Ye Ming was a little surprised by Whis's words. He hadn't expected Whis to think so highly of him.
Vegeta sat on a tree branch and said, "Don't go acting like some lone hero, Ye Ming. I'm here too, Prince Vegeta! I'll become the most powerful Saiyan in this universe!"
Hearing Vegeta call out arrogantly from the tree, Ye Ming smiled faintly. "Vegeta, I'm looking forward to fighting alongside you in the future. I believe you can do it."
And so, a new period of training began!
A day had passed since Son Goku and Son Gohan left. Vegeta was meditating in Destruction Space, purple energy continuously pouring out of him.
His Ultra Ego had advanced another step, and Vegeta could clearly feel that he had grown stronger.
But he furrowed his brow as he recalled Ye Ming's battle with AF Son Goku. My current strength still isn't nearly enough. I can't get carried away over such a small improvement!
Vegeta closed his eyes and focused on training toward Super Saiyan Blue Evolved. After all, Son Goku and Son Gohan had both mastered it, so there was no reason he couldn't.
In another space, Ye Ming was training earnestly. Anyone watching closely would have noticed that everything around him kept changing—sometimes being created, sometimes being reborn!
Ye Ming asked the system, "How can I quickly improve my understanding of the Law of Time and Space?"
The system replied, "Host, the Law of Time and Space is the most powerful law in this timeline and even in higher-dimensional timelines! There are no shortcuts. Everyone's path to understanding the laws is different."
"Even if the host wanted to learn from the experiences of those who once possessed the Law of Time and Space, those insights came from their own understanding. They might do the host more harm than good."
Ye Ming sighed softly at the system's words, then continued, "System, you haven't issued a mission in a long time. I thought I'd get some kind of reward for fighting that Son Goku, but I got nothing."
The system said, "Host, please don't rush. There will certainly be rewards in the future. But the host wants to grow stronger through his own efforts, doesn't he? The system is just a supplementary tool."
Ye Ming smiled knowingly. The system really did understand him. After all, if he became invincible too quickly, coming to this world would be no fun.
Ye Ming came back to himself and continued questioning the system. "Last time, in Universe 6, even Super Shenron couldn't figure out who AF Son Goku's enemy was. Do you know?"
"Of course I do, host! But there's no benefit in telling you now. There's nothing you can do about it. When your strength surpasses the Grand Priest's, I'll tell you."
"If this system speaks the name of that powerful deity, who knows if he'll notice? He might bring disaster upon the host."
Ye Ming furrowed his brow. That deity's power was apparently even more terrifying than he had imagined!
Still, he was worrying too much. His current strength had only just reached the threshold of the Angels. With power like his, he couldn't possibly catch the eye of those deities from higher-dimensional universes.
Ye Ming cast aside all distracting thoughts and resumed training in earnest.
"System, transmit the transformation method for Super Saiyan 5 to me," Ye Ming said calmly.
"Transmitting data now, host. The system is providing the perfect transformation method for Super Saiyan 5," the system replied.
Ye Ming's lips curled up slightly at the system's words. As expected, his transformation followed the strongest path!
Ye Ming had a sudden idea. "System, why not transmit the transformation method for Super Saiyan 6 to me as well?"
The system said, "Host, your overall strength is still insufficient, and your mastery of the power of laws is far from comprehensive. Even if you tried to train for it, you wouldn't succeed."
"The system reminds the host not to aim too high too soon. Take it one step at a time and build a solid foundation. That's the only way to reach the pinnacle!"
Ye Ming scratched his head. "I was just asking. I know!"
Now I'll start training for perfect Super Saiyan 5. If I achieve that transformation, my strength will surge! Ye Ming thought.
And so, in Destruction Space, Ye Ming began training to attain perfect Super Saiyan 5! When he emerged from seclusion, his strength would surely have soared.
