Champa's body suddenly shuddered, feeling an aura behind him that filled him with dread.
He turned his head to confirm that Lin Fan was standing right behind him, and Lin Fan asked with a smile:
"What's the matter? Thinking of laying a hand on someone I've trained?"
"L-Lord Lin Fan!"
The arrogance on Champa's face vanished in an instant; his eyes darted around, and his voice stuttered.
How could he have forgotten? Vegeta was Lin Fan's disciple, and Lin Fan's strength was something even Beerus feared.
He had just nearly attacked one of his people—wasn't that like a birthday boy hanging himself? He was simply tired of living!
Cold sweat broke out on his forehead instantly, even more than when he discovered Frost was cheating, and his back was already soaked through.
Seeing this, Vados immediately stepped in to smooth things over: "Lord Champa, you were just acting out of momentary anger, weren't you?"
She flashed to Champa's side and said in a relaxed tone: "Besides, Frost hasn't been officially disqualified yet. The referee just corrected the result of the first match; he is still eligible to compete."
After a pause, she deliberately raised her voice: "Previously, Universe 7 already had Gohan and another contestant eliminated. Now the opponents have three, and we still have four. By that count, Universe 6 is actually slightly ahead."
Champa's eyes lit up, and he immediately took the out: "Right! Right! Vados is right!"
He hurriedly retracted his Destruction Energy and squeezed out a stiff smile: "I was just impulsive earlier, just joking with contestant Vegeta. How could I possibly really lay a hand on a mortal?"
After speaking, he even cupped his hands toward Vegeta. There was no trace of a God of Destruction's majesty left in his demeanor; he looked just like a primary school student afraid of getting a beating.
"Since the tournament must continue, I won't get in the way. Contestant Vegeta, you must perform well."
As soon as he finished speaking, he flashed away, rushing back to the Universe 6 spectator stands. Even after sitting down, he couldn't help but look back at Lin Fan, and only let out a sigh of relief when he saw Lin Fan had no reaction.
Vegeta watched Champa's pathetic retreat with a slight frown. He turned to thank Lin Fan, but was interrupted by a wave of his hand.
"No need to thank me."
Lin Fan wore a faint smile, but his eyes were encouraging: "Champa didn't dare to touch you, but in the end, it's because you have enough strength yourself. Otherwise, my name alone wouldn't be enough to support your confidence."
He pointed at Frost on the ring: "That trash—I know you want to finish him off yourself. Show your strength and let him know what a true Saiyan is, and what a true powerhouse is."
"I understand, Master!"
Vegeta nodded heavily, his eyes turning sharp, and his battle intent erupted without restraint.
He had long found Frost an eyesore. Using underhanded tricks to defeat Gohan was a disgrace to all warriors. Today, he would make this guy pay the price.
Lin Fan patted Beerus on the shoulder: "Let's go, Beerus. Let's go back and watch. Let Vegeta handle it himself."
Beerus curled his lip, but a hint of approval showed: "This Champa knows his place, otherwise I wouldn't have let him off."
He turned to look at Vegeta, a disdainful smile tugging at his lips: "But this kid really has some skill; he has the air I had back in the day. Even if it's two against five from here on out, Universe 7 will still win."
With that, he followed Lin Fan slowly back to the Universe 7 spectator stands.
On the ring, Frost saw that both Champa and Beerus had retracted their Destruction Energy, and hearing Vados say he could still compete, he felt as if he had been granted a reprieve.
He wiped the cold sweat from his face and let out a long breath. He had thought he was a dead man just a moment ago; he hadn't expected such a sudden turn of events.
Looking at Vegeta in front of him, Frost squeezed out a fawning smile: "Contestant Vegeta, thank you so much. If it weren't for you, I'm afraid today..."
"Shut up!"
Vegeta interrupted him coldly, his eyes full of disgust: "A piece of trash like you who relies on schemes to win is fit to speak to me?"
"I didn't stop the God of Destruction from erasing you because I wanted to save you, but because I want to defeat you with my own hands and make you lose face in front of everyone."
He turned to the referee, who was frozen in place, too scared to move, and said coldly: "What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and announce the start of the match!"
The referee was startled by Vegeta's aura and quickly snapped back to reality, raising his arm to announce loudly: "The second match, Universe 7 contestant Vegeta versus Universe 6 contestant Frost. The match begins!"
As soon as he finished, he jumped off the ring and ran to the safety zone, fearing he would be caught in the crossfire.
The way Vegeta had confronted the God of Destruction had left a shadow in his heart; in his eyes, Vegeta was now more terrifying than both Gods of Destruction combined.
"Hmph, you arrogant brat!"
The fawning look on Frost's face vanished, replaced by a sinister expression: "If Lord God of Destruction hadn't been here earlier, I would have already dealt with you. Do you really think you can beat me?"
He quietly moved his wrist, revealing the small hole containing his poison needle: "Gohan was knocked out by my poison needle, and you will be the same. You'll lose consciousness within three seconds, and I will still win this match!"
He calculated that as long as he got close to Vegeta and touched him with the needle, the match would be in the bag.
"Is that so?"
A mocking smile curled on Vegeta's lips: "Then let me see if your poison needle can even touch me."
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure suddenly vanished from where he stood.
Frost's pupils shrank, and alarm bells rang in his heart. Just as he tried to react, he felt a powerful aura appear right in front of him.
He looked up to see that Vegeta had already teleported before him. His golden hair spiked up instantly, and a dense golden aura swirled around him, his power several times stronger than before.
"Super Saiyan 2 Full Power!"
In the Universe 7 spectator stands, Son Goku's eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but exclaim: "Vegeta, that guy... he's actually mastered Super Saiyan 2 to this extent. His strength has improved again!"
Piccolo nodded, a look of gratification on his face: "As expected of someone trained by Lord Lin Fan. Vegeta's growth speed is too fast; Frost is no match for him at all."
Frost was scared out of his wits, but it was already too late to retreat.
Vegeta's gaze was icy, devoid of a shred of emotion. He clenched his fist, channeling power capable of destroying heaven and earth, and slammed a brutal punch into Frost's chin.
"Bang!"
With a thunderous boom, the fist struck its target squarely.
Frost didn't even have time to scream; his body flew toward the edge of the ring like a kite with a broken string, moving so fast he left only a blur in his wake.
"Oh dear!"
Whis raised an eyebrow and tapped his staff lightly. A massive, transparent protective sphere instantly manifested around the arena—a barrier he had set up to prevent the shockwaves of the battle from reaching the spectators.
But the power behind Vegeta's punch was simply too immense. Frost's body slammed into the giant protective sphere with a crisp "crack," punching a massive hole right through it.
Frost passed straight through the barrier and crashed heavily onto the ground outside the ring, knocked cold, his battle suit shredded into rags.
Whis shook his head and waved his staff again. A soft light enveloped the protective sphere, and the hole that had just been smashed open was instantly repaired, as if it had never been damaged at all.
"Contestant Vegeta's power is truly astonishing," Whis said with a smile, his tone filled with admiration.
The referee hurried over to check on Frost's condition. Finding that he had completely lost consciousness and his breathing had grown shallow, he immediately raised his arm and announced loudly, "Contestant Frost is unable to continue! In the second match, Universe 7's contestant Vegeta is the winner!"
"He won! Vegeta is amazing!"
"To take down Frost with a single punch—that strength is just too overwhelming!"
The Universe 7 spectators erupted into cheers. Applause and shouts rose one after another, and every face was brimming with excitement.
Champa sat in the spectator stands, his face livid. His fists were clenched tight, and he felt nothing but stifled rage.
That trash Frost had actually been one-shotted by Vegeta; he had completely disgraced Universe 6.
He took a deep breath and said to Cabba beside him, "Cabba, you're up! You must defeat Vegeta and restore honor to Universe 6!"
"Yes, Lord Champa!"
Cabba's eyes were resolute. He stood up immediately, his figure flickering as he landed on the ring.
He looked at the Vegeta standing before him, his eyes filled with shock and a hint of excitement.
He had seen the scene of Vegeta one-shotting Frost with a single punch clearly; that kind of immense power was exactly what he had been striving for.
"Contestant Vegeta, I am Cabba from Universe 6. Please, treat me well!" Cabba bowed slightly to Vegeta, his tone respectful.
Seeing this, the referee quickly raised his arm again: "Third match, Universe 7's contestant Vegeta versus Universe 6's contestant Cabba. Begin!"
After making the announcement, he immediately ran back to the safety zone, muttering to himself: This Vegeta is too terrifying—even scarier than a God of Destruction. I need to stay far away from this match.
In the Universe 6 spectator stands, Caulifla watched Vegeta on the ring, her eyes flashing with excitement. She put her hands on her hips and shouted loudly, "Cabba, don't you dare lose too pathetically! Otherwise, I'll have to get in there myself!"
Her tone carried a hint of provocation, but even more anticipation.
The strength Vegeta had just displayed made her itch to cross blows with him as well.
The Universe 7 spectators also began to discuss the match.
"It's actually a Saiyan versus a Saiyan! This is the first time I've ever seen this!"
"Cabba looks pretty strong too. I wonder if he can withstand Vegeta's attacks."
"Vegeta is definitely going to win, right? Didn't you see him one-shot Frost? No matter how strong Cabba is, he can't be a match for him, can he?"
"It's hard to say. Saiyans get stronger the more they fight. This match is bound to be spectacular!"
Son Goku watched the two on the ring, an excited smile on his face as he couldn't help but say:
"This is great! To be able to see a battle like this—Vegeta, Cabba, you two had better give it your all!"
As the referee announced the start of the match between Vegeta and Cabba, the people of Universe 7 began to discuss it one after another.
They looked forward to this battle, the first-ever clash between a Universe 7 Saiyan and a Universe 6 Saiyan.
