History
Ashina leads the Uzumaki Clan when Kirigakure invades the Land of Whirlpools. After Hozuki Gensei infiltrates Uzukage Hall, Ashina fights him with Adamantine Sealing Chains. The battle exhausts Ashina's chakra; before collapsing into a coma, he appoints his son, Uzumaki Shori, as the next Uzukage. Tsunade later restores him to consciousness with a specially made Military Ration Pill and medical ninjutsu 1 2 3 8.
During the campaign against Kirigakure, Ashina helps defend the Uzushio camp and joins the squad sent to rescue an elder trapped within Minazuki Junhyo's Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals. He fights Gensei again, using underground movement and sealing techniques to counter his weapons and mist. After Uzushio's victory, Ashina credits Shori's leadership for saving the Land of Whirlpools 12 16 17 23 24 27.
Ashina remains involved after leaving office. He tests Shori's Weasel Tank and Black Bee Drones, fills in on government work when Shori travels, and helps oversee border defense. He also supervises the manned lunar rocket launch and later investigates intelligence that Konoha is seeking action against the Land of Whirlpools 36 53 79 113 145 156.

- Adamantine Sealing Chains — Ashina produces chakra chains for attacks and protection. He continues using them against Gensei even as his chakra runs low 1 2 16 17.

- Sealing Scroll — Absorbs Gensei's concealing fog, forcing him to attack the scroll 23.
