Background / History

Hikari lived during the Warring States period, when the Uchiha clan turned her into a humanoid weapon for its war against the Senju. Her modification included transplanting Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi into her Mangekyō Sharingan. The inhuman abuse she suffered left her with intense hatred for her own clan and the wider shinobi world 101 104.

The Senju and Sarutobi clans eventually combined their efforts to seal her away. The seal preserved her into the modern hidden-village era, but interrupted her development shortly after the ocular-technique transplantation. Akira knew of her history and considered finding her, then abandoned the idea because he neither knew her location nor believed he could resolve her resentment 101 105.

Her ruthlessness does not eliminate tactical judgment. She studies modern history after her release, prepares hidden chakra reserves before battle, observes opponents before intervening, and retreats when she recognizes that she cannot defeat Akira. Nevertheless, her willingness to attack both allied and enemy forces makes her exceptionally dangerous to everyone nearby 105 148 149 152 155.

Shisui’s enhanced Kotoamatsukami substantially changes her disposition by supplying memories in which Akira resolved her hatred and she joined Konoha.
