Background / History

Obito previously encountered Masaki Uchiha during the Third Shinobi World War, when Masaki’s emergency-response unit rescued Kakashi’s team. Masaki told him that his sensory ability allowed him to remember the chakra of those he had encountered. 132

Following the Nine-Tails Incident, Obito operated under the identity of “Madara.” Konoha issued a Ninja World wanted order for Uchiha Madara, leaving Obito confused that the village believed Madara to be alive. He subsequently chose to lie low rather than confront Masaki directly. 57 62

He later intervened in the Mist–Konoha conflict as a mercenary supposedly hired by the Fourth Mizukage. Seeking Uchiha Fugaku’s Mangekyō Sharingan, he fought Fugaku and Shisui, revealing both his Wood Release and Mangekyō Sharingan. 85

After crossing dimensions, Obito encounters revived versions of the First through Fourth Hokage. He falsely portrays himself and Akatsuki as a peace-seeking organization fleeing a demon named Masaki Uchiha. 135

After Masaki becomes Supreme Leader, Obito returns with those who had fled the Ninja World. They take Masaki’s son hostage and force Masaki through a portal opened by Obito. 167
