By the time Long Xiaoyao arrives at Sea God Island, Mu En is physically frail, white-haired, hunched, and dependent on the Golden Tree’s power. He confronts Long Xiaoyao to prevent him from taking Ma Xiaotao, but his condition worsens after only a brief clash of domains. 2

After learning that Ma Xiaotao’s Evil Fire can stabilize Long Yaochen’s defective God-tier Martial Soul, Mu En accepts the marriage arrangement and persuades Long Xiaoyao to leave Long Yaochen at Shrek as an exchange student. He sees the boy’s potential as an opportunity to restore Shrek’s declining state. 3 4 10

Mu En later receives a Nine-Grade Purple Ganoderma from Long Yaochen. The herb rekindles his light soul power, improves his physical condition, straightens his posture, darkens part of his hair, and allows him to appear substantially younger. The agreement also formalizes mutual allegiance: Long Yaochen promises not to betray Shrek so long as the academy stands behind him and does not betray him. Following the disastrous inspection mission, Mu En evaluates Long Yaochen’s conduct under pressure and is satisfied that he acted decisively after briefly panicking. He then reprimands Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe, strengthens Shrek’s use of defensive Soul Tools, and restricts dangerous missions lacking reliable intelligence. 96 97

Holy Spirit Cult Assault on Shrek

After determining that the Holy Spirit Cult intends to wear him down rather than directly storm Shrek, Mu En confronts the enemy force outside Shrek City. He restores his youthful form, manifests the Radiant Sacred Dragon, and single-handedly battles five evil Titled Douluo while ordering the other Shrek elders to maintain a defensive perimeter. 155 156 161 162

Before the confrontation, Mu En initially seeks to send Long Yaochen away with Xuan Zi, both to preserve Shrek’s future and to draw the enemy into acting. Long Yaochen challenges this plan, arguing that Mu En’s life cannot be spent merely to repel one attack, and proposes involving Jing Hongchen instead. Mu En accepts the alternative and allows Jing Hongchen to help prepare Shrek’s defenses. 155 156 160

When the cult deploys seven Class 9 Fixed Soul Tool Cannon Shells, Mu En sends Xuan Zi, Yan Shaozhe, and the other defenders back to reinforce Shrek City. Spiritual Origin Within the Golden Tree

After Mu En’s death, Long Yaochen later reconnects with his preserved Spiritual Origin through the Sacred Life Blade and the Golden Tree. Mu En explains that he cannot be resurrected and can no longer freely intervene in the outside world, but remains concerned with Shrek’s future. 200 201
