History
When Danzō presses Shisui to side against the Uchiha Clan, Shisui refuses to trust him and instead intends to bring the matter to the Third, Hiruzen Sarutobi 9. After awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, he proposes using Kotoamatsukami to silently change the coup planners’ will. Hiruzen promises to support the clan’s integration into Konoha if the plan succeeds 10 11.
Danzō lures Shisui into a Root ambush to take his eyes. Naruto intervenes, and the two fight Danzō before escaping together 11 12. That night, Shisui uses Kotoamatsukami on the coup faction. The technique stops its plans, but overuse of his eyes leaves him permanently blind 13.
Shisui subsequently retires from the Anbu and takes ordinary Konoha missions 25. During the later attack on the Uchiha district, he fights Kisame alongside Naruto. After recovering in hospital, he joins Naruto and Itachi in their assault on Danzō’s Root headquarters 28 31 34.
Appearance
Shisui initially wears a dark, high-collared short-sleeved shirt with triangular guards and matching trousers with leg wraps 9.

Personality
Shisui prioritizes protecting both Konoha and the Uchiha Clan, seeking to prevent rebellion rather than destroy the clan 11 13. He is attentive to Naruto’s safety even while dealing with the pain of his newly awakened Mangekyō, and remains composed after losing his sight 10 15.
He trusts Hiruzen enough to disclose Kotoamatsukami, but rejects Danzō after the ambush 11 12. When Itachi decides to pursue those responsible for the Uchiha tragedy, Shisui warns him not to sacrifice his future, then supports him against Root 34.

Body Flicker Technique
Shisui’s speed earns him the name “Body Flicker Shisui” 9.
